Scouts back in finals.
Yes! They could have performed a meatier show last year. Hopefully the design team steps things up.
Blue Stars top five!

Now here's something we haven't had here in a while. At least a week or two. An old-fashioned dinos vs youngins smackdown. 🍿
Thanks for referring to me as a youngin’! I’m sixty freaking three lol

The OP stated a preference, does that mean he/she is wrong?
“The experiment has been tried and failed.” That sounds more like a statement of fact rather than one of preference, but whatever

Other than the guard and pit, hats need to be part of the uniform/costume. The experiment has been tried and failed. Hats give a sense of sophistication, style and intrigue. Without them the horns and field percussion look unfinished and ordinary. It actually just looks like a glorified dress rehearsal.
Just my two cents.
Who determined lack of headwear is a failure?

What work, training, or certification has Stephanie Chavez done since she left Phantom Regiment to indicate that she's improved in her ability to support queer guard members and manage a staff to do the same?
I’m going to go out on a limb and say…

I was surprised that Les Stentors did a California tour last season. Great experience for the kids but it must have broke the bank.

Technology question- couldn’t they use one of the multiple synthesizers to sound like harmonica?
Sure, but I’m picturing the harmonica player as a feature of the show much like last year’s cellist

I know it's not world class, but I think it's apropos for this subject. From Gunner Vowell on Facebook:
I’ve received many, many messages from students and colleagues asking about this season of Louisiana Stars. Although I’m not an executive or administrator of the corps, I feel that there should be some official memo from the organization about the plan going forward and the state of operations. To the best of my knowledge, the corps will not be taking the field in 2023.I owe my growth through the last decade of teaching to the Louisiana Stars and the opportunities and experiences it has given me, and I know there are hundreds of alumni who feel similarly about the corps’ impact. After 2022 I felt proud of what we were able to accomplish given the circumstances, but I knew that offering the same experience (or anything less) for the next season would be wholly irresponsible. You cannot have a healthy drum corps without a commitment to a healthy member experience, and a further commitment to continually improving operations. The only way for Stars to get there currently is to stay off the field and rebuild the foundation. Whether that happens or the corps folds for good, I will always look back on the first 9 years as some of the best chapters of my life. The sweat, tears, and memories made with all involved will keep me smiling for a long time.Stars- if I taught you, taught with you, or put a scoop of pastalaya on your plate, I want you all to know that I love you and am proud of you.Scott, when I meet you on the shore I hope you will share a drink and cuss me just like you used to.Love,GunnerThe latest news on their website is from early October. That’s not a good sign.

I did a few parades with the Fossil Band in Illinois seven or eight years ago. I doubt I could now but after I get my bionic knee next month…watch out.
Best wishes on a speedy recovery!

You really need a harmonica to do Morricone justice. He even used it to great effect in the non-western The Untouchables

The closest anyone ever came to beating BD was Boston at Atlanta with a .15 margin.
That margin finals week was a lot larger.I should have thought beyond finals

Came close to beating BD in 2022. Read my post again.
BAC and Bluecoats tied for second. If BAC came close to beating BD it follows that Bluecoats did as well.

If you beat BD then you are DCI Champs in 2023. You can beat others but BD is that goal. 2022 was a pretty easy year for no. 20 for BD. Boston came close but nobody else did. I'm stating facts....not fiction.
Your claim about “nobody else” is wrong. Did you forget about the tie for second place?

Last update here was before end of 2022 season. Any info on Spirit status for 2023? Thinking of checking their FB page but was there when crap hit fan and 😱. So hoping for better and less nasty posts here.
I think i recall an announcement that their creative staff from ‘21 is intact. That thrills me because that show theme and music was amazing

I was there. I don't want to give away anything about the show, but the brass and perc played through the first two movements at the end of camp. If the show keeps moving in the same direction as the music the corps has so far, I think it has the potential to be one of my favorite Cadets shows of all time. The music is THAT cool.
Is it music that’s new to Cadets or drum corps? Contemporary(ish)? Throw us a bone 😉

Boston/Inspire should send the money back as a sign of support to ALL its diverse members,
I don’t support Chic-fil-a or their owner in any way, shape or form but more power to BAC. Take the money and run!
