To answer the question that came up, The Watchmen are indeed still in the process of completing the DCI evaluation to become a DCI open class corps. We were represented yesterday at the Drum Corps Pacific meeting and are excited with the progress we've been making this last month. We currently have about 60 members in the group (25 brass 25 percussion and 10 guard) and are still accepting members in our brass and colorguard sections.
We are planning on attending the local Southern California DCI shows as well as a few other community and exhibition performances. We have no immediate plans to travel outside of California in the near future and our main goals are to offer students performance and educational opportunities but at a more affordable price. We are very much a grass roots organization but so far we're off to a great start and have had a lot of support from the local drum corps community.
Also, If there are any students currently interested in auditioning, we are indeed looking for brass and colorguard members still. We are also offering partial scholarships to music majors. As well as full and partial scholarships to exceptional lead trumpet players.
For more information on auditioning please feel free to send me an email.
