I couldn't agree more! Monday's was my 4th consecutive Mankato show, and the minimal distance between audience and corps is what brings me back. I've sat on the 50 for the past 2 years, and it has been so fun to be ROWS away from some drum majors. There's truly no room on the field for a pit and podium, so the DMs come up into the stands, underscoring just how close fans can be to the music in this venue. I do agree that amplified narration can get lost in this stadium since the speakers are so close to the stands, but that's a worthwhile tradeoff for in-your-face brass moments that feel more like a warm-up arc than an on-field performance. We're lucky to have so many great groups touring the Upper Midwest in June!
