I dunno. Crossmen are laying it on pretty thick this year.

No rain. A little breeze no lightning as of now. Waiting. They made everyone leave the stadium even cleared the souvie area. I have never seen this for what in my opinion was lightning in the distance. I hope they don’t require everyone to show their tickets to get back in or it will take at least an hour.
Lightning can lead and trail a front by quite a long distance. It doesn't have to be raining or even "noticeably close" to be dangerous. This incident in South Africa struck seemingly out of the blue as 'lightning was in the distance but not near enough to call the game.'

Homestead High School (IN) was so ahead of their time, with a real live figure-skating performance IN their field show in 2017.
That was a great show. Should have made finals.

In my high school days, we....
Marched an infamous rain soaked prelims show for a BOA show in Terre Haute. Then a chilly evening show in sodden woolen uniforms that'd been hanging in the school busses with us.
Mass evacuated the parking lot during rehearsal as the tornado sirens went off and the sky went green....twice. (my sister did it once during her four years before me). Welcome to rehearsal in Indiana.
Learned drill with the ground thudding from artillery and explosions in a munitions field just past the woods next to our practice field (good ole Trafalgar!)
Marched a show in freak snow showers (the kind that happen when it's still sort of warmish out but colder way up).
Good times.
Oh, we also used the balloon thing for learning breath control.- 1

"clearing" the stadium. Fans don't seem in that much of a hurry. I guess its extra INT time and souvie booths will be packed.
-
oh geez. I wonder if they'll just try to swap Academy with INT and hopefully this passes.

I do se the trumpet line marching with more foot lift when they go backwards over the tarp. It's good technique. So they're definitely teaching it.
Also, man, they're pushing through fatigue in that closer tonight. You can see it on their faces after the last horns down.- 1

First tarp casualty of the night: one trooper
I was concerned about that. I imagine they have some pretty fatigued marchers out there tonight and they didn't get that front triangle down flat enough at the start, it's developed some big wrinkles in the very front
-
Troop compresses in the front half of the field but they do spread 20 to 20 for this opener.
-
Not seeing any obvious holes as they line up close around the tarps. so they must be back in action.
Edit: Ok I see one hole I think. So hopefully they got it contained and under control and it's passed pretty much! Get strong Troop!- 3

Alright Troop!

It’s from an album by Sam Cardon and Kurt Bestor called “Innovators.” They’re mostly film composers from Utah that my parents when to school with and then worked with in the recording industry for a long time, but they also did a bunch of new age jazz in the late 80’s into the 90’s. This is from that collaboration. Their live concerts were always good, the musicians that played with them were world class studio musicians!

Thanks! I'll check it out.

They have a yellowish on my screen too. Also their faces are super red...I mean yeah late season "tans" at the end of a show but like more so.

Everything after the false ending is just fabulous.

Dad: Look at that straight line. That's how we started shows! (He marched and American Legion corps in 1956).

Weird to hear a that little chant clip toward the end of Genesis show, as it’s from an obscure album my parents worked on like 30 years ago! Lol
I wonder who found it.
What is is it? I caught it for maybe the first time tonight.

Scouts should march tympanis for Quarterfinals just for fun.

Ooh Scouts. I love the shot from the start line on Multi Cam right now.

The wall of brass is such a nice way of going vertical for both a visual and musical effect.

Hi Cam works. I just pinged a comment on their Facebook post for their pre-show for this. That typically got attention last year.
