His comment was one of the most tone deaf, ignorant, and stupid things I’ve read on DCP; so much so that I couldn’t be bothered to respond to it. Thank you for doing it for me. People will say just about anything online

Not really…kids getting fed on tour and you bring religion into the discussion.  There’s zero useful dialogue in bringing that in.  Point being that any dietary “restrictions” that are not medically necessitated are a choice and nothing else…not sure how stating that is ignorant and tone deaf.

You do realize vegetarianism and veganism is very often a religious restriction, right? Many Hindus (third most common religion in the world) and Buddhists are often strict vegetarians, those who are Jain often can't even have root vegetables in their food (onions and garlic) on top of no eggs, meat, etc.

I am not vegetarian, but a vegetarian or vegan diet, whether it be by choice or for religious reasons is still a dietary restriction that should be respected just as much as any other dietary restriction.

If you went camping with a bunch of friends and one of them was vegetarian by choice, would you only pack a bunch of meat for the trip and tell them to suck it up and eat it? Doesn't matter what the reason is, a food restriction is a food restriction.

If we want to be reductionists about this religion is a choice as well so ultimately those dietary “restrictions” are a choice…see how this works?

We're talking about two different things. Yes, DCI said it's a single regional. That still doesn't mean Crown is ahead of Boston and Bluecoats or beat Boston and Bluecoats at Allentown. They performed yesterday and were compared to BD. Crown performed today and was compared to Cadets and Vanguard. Case in point - 2019. Crown never beat Vanguard head-to-head yet they outscored them at Allentown.

I don't care if God says it's so, it ain't so. It's impossible for any judge to judge a set of corps one night comparing them to a set of different corps from the night before.

    But they just did…

I hope what we see is lots of visual dirt removed from the show!  Untapped visual potential is killing me.  You can't give a visual judge any easy targets.  They will just latch on and talk about that for a full minute and meanwhile miss the rest of the show (and I'm only half kidding -- heard too many tapes where it's clear it does happen).  Make them work to find something new.  Judges are human beings (well -- most of them ) and like all human beings suck at multi-tasking.  Distractions are death.

    This^^^

Usually crown has some of the cleanest drill out there…pretty sketchy this year.  Must be all that streamer work… 😉

lol - I didn't buy into all the hate, still don't. Cadets have pushed the bar way forward and way higher in this activity than anyone else. Hope they get back to it.

Let's be honest here....the large majority of hate was not directed at the Cadets but at he who shall not be named instead.  The Cadets were simply a proxy for him.

Yes. And I won't be reading the work because I get less than nothing from reading Christian theological texts. (I know your comment wasn't aimed at me so this isn't aimed back at you, promise. ) And besides how does a show based on the poems of Christian giant not retain its theocratic themes and still remain true to the text anyway? Yes there's abstraction that I very much appreciate and enjoy, but riddle me that.

And, for others, I have a great capacity for not enjoying a theme AND still really enjoying a show immensely at the same time. I recommend more fans try it some time.

I don't have to enjoy Papaya Paradise Lost in the same way or for the same reasons as BAC fans.

Time for a show about Nihilism and the Big Lebowski
