Exactly. Or you fall off props. Either way, I'm glad the immediate care is there to help the members recover. Kudos for that. Prevention is what I would be curious about.

I was wondering the exact same thing. That would seem to me to be something that would be a big, red flag to DCI. That's nearly, what, 3 times (at minimum) the average number of concussions per NFL team in 2022? And concussions are not something that happens due to lack of off season prep.
No … that happens when rifles fall on your head.

You should go through the steps if you signed up with Flo since 2020.
The 12 Steps? Is there a Flo 12 Step Program?

I think her experience working with drummers paved her career path.
She became a veterinarian, not a mortician.
Veterinarians are for contras.

So much for that argument that placements don’t matter because all that matters is the kids are having fun.
That’s just what George Zingali said when he told me to stop ####### up his drill.

But you could add or deduct few tenths if you want one Corps to beat another. At top it is often enough.
Of course, at the top, a few tenths is pretty noticeable

right....it's the same sheets regardless, and judges have the ability to go back and adjust numbers if need be
But isn’t the retroactive adjustments by tier, or can they go back and adjust the whole show?

Thanks for that history, loved watching Night Beat at that stadium. Seeing all the Corps finding their cubbies to warm up in was so flavorful to me.

I've kept quiet and logged out for a few months since my suspension was lifted, but I have to say that this is probably the most petty and pathetic thing I've seen anyone post on here in my years of reading and commenting. You're allowing a fan base to dictate whether or not you support the kids on the field? I bet this makes you feel so much better at night, doesn't it? The fact that you felt the need to share this speaks volumes for your character, and not so much the Crown organization or its fandom.
You’ll love the ignore feature. I do.

Because of exactly what started this little sidetrack: Boston fans constantly bringing up Crown. Additional reasons: (1) their shows and uniforms look precisely like Crown shows of the past (2) their admin seems to hire everyone that Crown parts ways with (most recently Hannum and Ancona). Since Crown moved on from those guys there's no angst here just an observation. (3) Boston adopted Crown's spring training regime (ie move in to a small remote college, live in the dorms, etc... I see posts from Boston fans bragging about all this but it's just an exact copy of what Crown has done for many, many years at Gardner Webb. I mean it makes sense because it works well but it's just exactly the same setup as that team had at Crown (4) It's funny as hell . How's that for a start?
And I know I'm going to get the standard reply (Boston has their own identity blah blah blah). Let me tell you -- that identity may be there internally but from everything you see publicly...well it's there for anyone to see. Sic sequitur Crown North. It's not an insult -- it's literally a description. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery I guess. <donning flame suit now>
ps. sorry but you asked...
Nope. Disagree on all counts. Crown North is just mocking in a snide Crown sort of way. I am a Bloo honk. I have no skin in this um, game? But Crown fans have just seemed petty and hypersensitive to anything Boston says or does.
I really wish Crownies would just grow the #### up.
They are the main reason I go to the hot dog stand when they are on the field. Not the the corps.
Oh, and thanks for the lol on my previous post. You so funny.

Not sure why you posted all that… pretty much everyone is over the Potter team leaving. My one and only comment here was that Boston fans just can’t stop bringing up Crown. The rest of it is old news. No one cares.
If everyone is over the Potter team leaving, why does Crown-North keep popping up in the Crown threads?

3? 4? 17?Well, Pete Emmons retired a few years back, so that’s one less Pete.

First and foremost, thank you for your tangible support of this activity. Scholarships/sponsorships are important acts of human good. The drum corps experience can totally change the trajectory of a life, so each sponsorship is like a lifeline.
That said, there was a time when these lifelines were not necessary. Unheard of, in fact. Economically challenged communities had WHOLE CORPS of their own (sometimes plural). And dues were so low that everyone could afford to join. I wish the marchers of today could experience that kind of inclusiveness, instead of having to hear about it from their grandparents.
Yeah, I changed my post … I felt I was being a little too self-aggrandizing … and you’re right … I was part of a couple of those corps that were open to virtually everybody for next to nothing. I too wish that was the reality of today’s corps.

I get a Bluecoats vibe from them in that they are also turning into Mad Scientists ( if they haven’t turned already) -that’s a great thing — the more mad scientists, the better

This is a wonderful, civil discussion as to diversity related to DCI's hiring practices. However, I must say just a few miles south of the Indianapolis Circle Centre, there's some beautiful corn fields. I'm thinking $150k per year & living in the middle of one wouldn't be so bad. 🤷♂️
Sending my application to the DCI HR office now... 😂
… and a few miles north is Carmel, and I’m not sure how far $150k would go there
