I have half a bottle left over from making fish house punch. I love making daiquiris with that rum. the funk makes it so interesting.

Oh and how are they gonna top this year's uniforms?
Greg Lagola never disappoints.

Now that I’ve posted on this thread, why was it started in the first place? I just arrived back from Lucas Oil, talked with lists of folks. Some thought the scores should have been closer. No one said that Blue Devils should not have won, there were discussions about who should have been in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. No one even said the word three-peat.
It is purely a straw man construction. I am one of the biggest BD critics on this forum and I never thought this year would be anything other than a 3 peat. BD scored more than anyone else 3 competitive year in a row. Anyone saying it is not a 3 peat is just not being honest.

I'm sure we'll find out what Bloo has to offer...On June 28 or whatever it will be. 🤣
I think the mystery is part of the fun

Great idea, time to dust the Appleton off and fix one up
What kind? Is it signature or an aged version? I love both

But what I’m saying is that the design portion of the visual caption (visual analysis) is what Bloo beat BD in. And they beat BD in guard at various points this season as well.
To win proficiency against BD, a corps is going to need to hire instructors with the same level of visual expertise as BD. The body movement vocabulary and execution at BD is on a different plane of existence than other corps almost entirely due to their instructional staff, not design staff.
This is where we are at an impasse. I thought Bluecoats body movement and vocabulary was equal to BD this year. I think I am beginning to understand that BD just shows more different elements, which you can more easily do when you break free from the conventional drill book.

I’ll take 20 more years of second rather than become more like BD. I don’t mean that as a slight to BD, Bluecoats have developed what is THEM. They have a clear identity and to see them ditch that to win would break my heart. They need to keep refining what has brought them the consistent success they’ve seen since 2013. That’s what BD has done over decades.
Always worth a look at what wins and what you can learn from it but don’t sell your soul…….
I agree with you, more than you know.

The reason why people like Bluecoats is because they have their own identity
I agree. I love the Bluecoats how they are. However if the secret of winning GE and visual is to not have form to form drill and do nothing but staging and body movement, then you do what you gotta do.

Uh what? They quite literally took 2nd off the backs of their extremely strong visual performance tonight. Both in marching and design
What I mean is to beat BD, become more like them.

To wind down I will be having a rum old fashioned made with Smith and Cross Navy Proof rum

In order to win, fire the drill writer and stage organically.

I got my 3 year degree in 5 years! It's still a 3year degree.
Would that mean the same if I got my 4 year degree in 25 years? lol

A lot of people have because it wasn't three straight calendar years....like the 2020 cancellation and 2021 exhibition season counted in a threepeat.
No offense, but I think that is a bit of a straw man.

BDCG 10 in content wowza (yowza? iykyk). That ballad flag feature was nails tonight. And the Jojo rifles never looked better. Glad the Zingali’s back in Concord!!!
Bloo guard very deservingly a close second in content and I’m glad the judge appreciated what a feast that guard book was.
BAC guard you’ll always be rock stars. Thank you for treating Moby Dick to dinner tonight ❤️ You shipwrecked with grace
No complaint about BDs guard, they have been fire all season. The Zingali is well deserved.

They won 3 consecutive competitive seasons. So yes it is a 3 peat. Not sure who is challenging that idea.

Thank you for sharing. I'm balling on my couch like a baby. 😭
All I wanted all season was to know where they were. They look so happy with their stars.
💚❤️
Just so proud.
I notice only one in a Mandarins uniform, so that dispels the notion that their success was due to an influx of SCV kids.

I see the Mandarins as being the next first time Champion. You guys are just going to keep moving up.

I’ll start: If there is a 4-peat in 2024, it will be awarded to Blue Devils.
default will be BD winning for the foreseeable future. (Hence my salty nature)

Congrats on the Ott. Swept all 3 night, which was the right call. You had a magic show which I will keep coming back to. Cant wait for next year.

Forget the score, you had the most moving, the most exciting and the most difficult show out there. I loved every second of it and I can't wait to see what you bring next year.

Okay I’m not gonna argue on finals night BUT this is not really one of those years when you can say BD just stands there lol…………….. Don’t do it I’m begging. Moby Dick lived tonight and we’re friends, and I know she’s hungry. Don’t do it!
I'm not saying they don't move, hell they rarely stay still. It's just not in a conventional way.

Bluecoats 2024

Many corps have so much room to grow with YouTube engagement. Something like that unboxing video is genius and would have so much more impact than the boxed reveals done by the uniform companies.
