Spewing hatred and hating the activity for what it has become lately are two different things.
I think he was expressing the frustration many of us feel. It’s not like we’re giving up on it. I’m going to DCA in Williamsport this week and we bought our tickets for Indy in Indy on prelims day.

Glad to see that. Rumors floating at Reading last night there was a movement to cut 2 loose
That’s what I was worried about. The great Madison purge of 2003 is still fresh in my memory.

No not you but they happened.
I don’t doubt it. Reporting dead people is ridiculous. They’re dead. Not a threat to anyone on this mortal plane.

Another vote should be cast for BD legend Pooh Bear (RIP) and the gentleman who stood next to him for their bari duet in 81 BD’s Dindie. Pooh Bear also came to KAC in 2007 and helped anchor the bari section.
Definitely a yes on Doug. He could really lip trill on the Bari, too. I marched with him in Kilties all-age and Royal-Airs reunion corps. Great guy. RIP.
Madison ‘88 Clay Wacholz.
Kilties ‘72, ‘73, ‘74 McCoy’s Reel. I know Ray “Moon Eyes” Johnson played it in ‘73 and ‘74.

and DCi got complaints about stuff before DCi even existed. Seriously.
Not from me. And the person I reported in 2012 before the policies were in place, was trying to slink his way back into the activity through a Soundsport group this season ... I didn’t even bother with DCI . Got it up on drumcorps Reddit, and the Soundsport group sent him packing. Squeaky wheel and all that.

What is the reason for the difficult LOS entry/reentry? The ticketing system is wireless. Does the Indy Chamber Of Commerce know they are favoring business on the backside of the stadium? It's a very large building and you can only access it by using the gate furthest from your seat. Our best-kept secret The Town Tavern sits there idle and others while there is a line outside establishments on the opposite side.
It's apparent, been complaining about this for years. Dci does not want to hear it from the fans. Maybe the Chamber Of Commerce cares, they already restrict the number of reservations the hotel's around LOS book so it fair for the other Hotels, restaurant access is in the same train of thought. Just looking for sensible LOS access don't care how it comes.
If you’re a disabled, you can enter through that gate. Jim went in that gate with his disabled veteran card.

As well they should. If there is no real connection to the corps it is easy to think there still is. I honestly thought there was.
I agree 100%. I’m just a little voice. Made the suggestion to the boy years back but he’s only peripherally involved now.

Lets only hope that SS or something similar is on Pioneers radar. It's sure a time for them to find out who their friends really are. The alumn can rush in be part of the SoundSport team and Parade Corps to really put things back together. Help build a base of youngsters for a near-term return. It's all in their court how they handle adversity ime will tell. I think they have some cheerleaders here.
I knew I would hear from you on this. Great but these kids are paying for this activity, working just as hard sweating just as much but it's the man or not in the already sold seat that makes a difference? It's not a festival where the top groups reap all the awards. It's an activity for the youth to pay for and get all kinds of rewards. But not to be treated unfairly because how many eyeballs our on them. How does that affect anything except that we are playing king of the mountain?
Our friends stay out in Military Park much rather listen to the corps warm-up. On Friday only came inside for the last three corps. I had fun telling their seat interlopers that the big boys are coming for their seats. They said are you sure, replied there are coming down the aisle but they usually have no idea what they're doing and may very well may turn around. Kids thought I was messing with them.
It's none of anyone's business how they spend their own money. The seat is sold to do what we want with. Think I don't know the habits of dci fans. Are they any worse than the more fair and equal BOA system where parents pay for a seat just to see their kid march? Very poor reasoning.
I went in early Thursday, left for a while, came back in later. Friday, came in for what I missed Thursday to the end. Saturday, came in for the entire show. That’s a lot of hours in that place sitting in that seat. My back was actually a little sore on Sunday when I got home. I just don’t sit that much.

It was quite remarkable reading on reddit the rationale by Genesis and their supporters for a hire that admitted to hugging and kissing a minor away from school grounds.. and having inappropriate, non education communication with the minor. Its depressing to know that there are such classic enablers still in the activity for these creepers caught and admitting to the incidents too. There was even a sentence that can only be construed as classic victim shaming in the press release by Genesis, imo.. It just demonstrates how much work DCI still has to do to change hiring practices as well as the too comfortable culture that allows former admitted sex offenders to find a sage haven in DCI Drum Corps apparently still. There are also shockingly too many defenders of these types of hires too in DCI. Such attitudes for the hires and retentions of these former people with admitted sexual indiscretions with minors show attitudes that one would expect in 1958, not here 2018. It seems lots of work remains to bring DCI Drum Corps culture and attitudes into the 21st century in some quarters still. The good news here however, is these people with such archaic thinking in feeble attempts to justify the hiring and retention of these people will most likely show in time that they were on the wrong side of both history and in responsible thinking, imo
It’s hard to change attitudes.

Do you have first hand knowledge of that because I don’t? I thought they used Romeoville’s equipment. I’ll have to message my son because he taught there for a long time before his career got really big.

It's already been mentioned in another thread that Pioneer Indoor is run by a former Percussion Caption Head of Pio, that it's based in Romeoville, IL instead of Milwaukee, and that its BOD is completely different from that of Pio's now-former board.
Exactly. I’ve known Adam Hill, asst band director at Romeoville high school and Pioneer indoor director, since he was a freshman at RHS. I’m actually from Romeoville and I’m a graduate of RHS.

Nope. It was the corps in Wisconsin who is the subject of Tricia’s latest article.
