  1. I'm doing a project for school on the history of the front ensemble. I've already looked on the DCI.org and PAS website, so any other places would be very helpful. Thanks.
  2. The reason I wrote this topic is because I am one of those people that has chosen to play the rack. I hopped in my first season because there was an opening in the corps for rack, but after that I fell in love. This year will be my fifth season rockin' it on the rack, and I'll still have one year left. You can find me on any of the DVD's from 03-05 (they didn't show me on this years DVD) starting the Blue Knights show on chimes.
  3. I was just wondering if anyone out there has chosen to play the rack (auxiliary percussion) on their own for more than one season. That means you played it as your first choice, not because you were cut from the battery/pit and played rack as a means to be involved with the corps that season. It seems to be a position most people settle for but not many (if any...that's why I posted this) choose to do.
  4. Hello everyone, I've heard tales of meeting your true love in drum corps, and was just wondering if any of you out there have found that special someone through this great activity. My current boyfriend and I met after our corps shared a housing site. I smiled at him in the hallway, and as our corps took the field, his was coming off, so (both of us being in the pit), I was able to tell him he had a great show. Well, after the Omaha show, he came over to my truck to introduce himself. We had our first date at a Taco Bell that was across from a stadium at our last show together. Through the great inventions of technology, we were able to stay in contact all summer, and finally get to see each other finals week during the I&E competitions and after my Finals performance. He lives over one-thousand miles away from me, and we got to see each other for the first time since Finals last weekend. It's just crazy how drum corps can bring people together that would've never met had it been for corps. So, share your stories. I'd love to hear them.
  5. You find a way to make every assignment you have in speech class about corps.
  6. When you have to do laundry in college and get lonely because there aren't tons of corps kids around. You notice how close the gas stations are to the football stadium so you can see if you can make a quick run over before heading home.
  7. When you look around a room you just walked in and notice all of the outlets you could possibly charge your cell phone in.
  8. Blue Knights. This is my first year. I'm playing rack.
