  3. Reposted in case you didnt see it the first time. Dont point fingers, running a drum corps is extremely difficult. If you have not lived in their shoes....just help.
  4. Most Open Class corps ask their kids to not post on DCP because of those Monday morning QB's that look to pick fights or criticize kids for their opinions and/or thoughts.
  5. Thanks! Does anyone really think YEA started C2 for the betterment of the activity? Would it not be better for the activity in all the DCI, DCA and alumni corps in our region worked together to promote the activity to new members & fans as a whole? Instead we fight for the same small recruiting pool, our fan base is only ex drum corps people! If we all worked together to bring in more new members and filled the current corps, then there would be a need for more corps. If we did that there would be new fans buying tickets to all our shows....and the bottom line is $$$! I am not saying I have all the answers but we keep doing things the same way every year and the activity is NOT growing. Just my opinion. Tommy
  6. I knew I should never post on DCP EVER! People are always looking to argue. Ask Bush, Cabs, Fusion, Spirit of Newark who was there to lend a hand when they asked. This is my last post.
  7. They probably dont have the #'s they were expecting!
  8. Mr. Russ, Dont get into it. I know you what you mean. Mr. P is one of your best friends. Tom
  9. I would love to see ECJ back too....more corps is always a good thing. The problem is that post for a show has not been confirmed through the dci office. The Raiders are already contracted to be at the Bridgmens show that day.
  10. Why? I am looking for staff. The applicants might come from dci wc or dca.
  11. 2010 was a true Celebration for the Raiders Organization. Competing for their 20th straight year, the Raiders again found enormous success on and off the field. While the corps achieved it's highest placement and score in DCI's Open Class Division in 2010, the corps can't rest on it's success. Now the Raiders are looking to move forward to bring a new level of excitement and competitiveness to the organization. At this time the Raiders are accepting Educational Staff Resumes from interested individuals that would like to be part of the corps future success. 13. I honestly do no know, but i would like to believe there is multi-camera.
  14. [At what point does it become about making the individual corps stronger and not doing what is best for the general good of the cause? I have that debate in my head all the time. The Raiders could not afford to attend 2 OC shows in New England this summer. I got alot of grief about that. It was best for the Raiders to stay in NJ and go to the TOS in Bayonne. But it would have been better for the good of the order for the Raiders to go to the OC shows. There needs to be a balance and effort by all. There is no 1 clear answer. THere are many issues that need to be addressed.
  15. Open class is a class which allows a corps to be whatever it chooses to be. Stay and prosper in OC or grow to become a WC. Going to WC does not make you more sustainable. Most OC corps do weekends only then tour to Indy. Proper management should lead to growing membership & LTFI, but a true fraternity of corps striving to help and grow every corps regardless of class or size would be an even greater factor in the growth of OC/WC and the entire activity.
  16. If we raised the age of both classes kids would stay in open class longer.
  17. They are staying at the Howard Johnson on Rt 3 in Clifton behind the Ihop. They rehearsing at Passaic County Tech in Wayne.
