She was amazing! I just wish the rollout devices themselves were less finicky.
Agreed. No sense in adding drama where none is needed!

You didn’t see how the right side of the frame almost flipped over during the guard member’s attempt to roll it out?
Oh, i saw it. But she corrected in time.

Go for it, Mandarins! Wishing you great success tonight with your amazing show!

These dang frame rollouts are giving me anxiety. Each night I wonder how they’re going to fail next. Those things need to split off and do some reps of their own before tonight’s show so they’ll be perfect!
I thought it looked good last night!

To my fellow BD Honks..........
Ok guys here we are, finals night where our beloved Devils could capture another title.
So you know what that means if BD can slam the door shut on the competition.............here come the trolls, whining, complaining, crying, and the rest of same regurgitated stuff from previous years from certain people. We all know it's coming, we all know what's going to be said, we need to be ready.
Let's make sure we look out for one another and don't allow each other to get sucked into some trolls trap. Some of these trolls have upped their game and they are good at getting a negative reaction from us to drag us down to their level if we aren't paying attention. And as I learned last night, it can happen to any of us.
After the Mandarins semi-finals run, I had a laspe in judgement that could have gotten me banned from DCP as I allowed a troll to get under my skin. It hits differently when your kid is in the corps, but I have to be better than that, and I have learned from it.
Check your supply of Industrial Strength "Troll Be Gone" Repellent, and I am sure @Cappybara has bottles of Haterade in all different flavors to dish out to the haters who come passing thru.
Let's have a great evening, and enjoy The Cut-Outs one final time!
DO IT UP DEVILS!
And thanks, Chief, for taking us along on your journey with your son. Would love to see Mandies take fifth!

I get what the OP means and he isn’t wrong. there were many cheering in my section but the overall response seemed to be a tepid acknowledgement that BD was great. And i get it, but the kids deserve more. I WILL add that the ballad doesn’t get a standing O, i think, because no one wants to break the spell! It feels wrong to make a lot of noise as those notes fade away.

Not sure. Need to look into it. Last time I checked, the bandwidth I need wasn’t available.
It’s not like I live in the back woods or something. I live in a major metro area. My city is just incompetent. Been talking about bringing fiber in for a decade now, but nothing has actually been done to that end.
I finally ditched comcast three months ago and got a great fios package wuth verizon. Cheaper and DEFINITELY more stable.

BD winning guard on night 1 is a great sign. Lately they haven’t been nailing it til finals night. This is the most mature quarterfinals guard I’ve seen for BD since 2015 and they still have a little bit of room to improve.
Heard a group of women talking on the way out. One said BD CG are all aliens. The other said they arent aliens, but they ARE inhuman!

I bet it’s a mix of the two honestly. Some will just not like the show which is fine. Others still have recency bias of Crown being in 4th over and over again so they just go to that I think. I remember a lot of people saying this was Boston’s best corps ever (I actually agree) and they find themselves in 4th… just shows how good this top 4 is this year.
There is a third option. I REALLY disliked Crown’s show last year and any comment i made that was critical got me branded a basher. And i bashed back a bit. I never bashed the corps kids, just some posters here. They would ask what I didn’t like, and when i told them, i was labeled a hater.
the show this year is like knight and day (see what i did there?). It helps that i am a fool for the arthurian legends. But it’s the first crown show i have seen in a long while where everything makes sense and works together. And the kids perform it well.
so some of us aren’t really haters. We just know what we like (or don’t like).
great job tonight.

I think it’s understated how great it is for the corps to be able to practice indoors for 2+ days leading up to prelims. Avoids rain outs, allows the corps to prepare for the acoustic environment of Lucas oil, and is just easier on the marcher’s bodies. One of the many ways BD sets these guys up for success
I have no doubt BD will come out of these 3.5 days of rehearsal ironing out all the kinks to max out the show
My anxiety always kicks in when one of my kids (or grands) gets sick, when tornadoes are in the forecast, or when any corps comes within 0.50 of BD! So, while I absolutely agree with every thing you say here, i will continue to take my medication! 😂😂 💙😈✂️

As someone noted, they stream ALL of prelims on thursday. If you have Flo, you don’t need to go to the theater. And last yeaar they showed every performance for all 3 days, as well as the retreat and scores on Saturday.
