  1. It is currently on page 2. will be bumping it momentarily. And I love this show, so I see your perspective here.
  2. What an incredible way to end an incredible season. Congrats on the medal and the Ott, Crown. Hands down the best hornline since 2013, and the score reflects it.
  3. Thought I would be the one to make this thread for the second year in a row. Reflecting upon how I opened the thread this past season, the performers were indeed finally handed a product that in my eyes knocked it out of the park. It just so happened there were three other shows around them that were also amazing. The design staff is definitely learning from the past. The new percussion staff really meshed well with the design team and brought a whole new sound to this corps that works really really well. I am excited to see what a whole year worth of recruiting will do to this line. Now that the other captions have caught up to the brass, I think that if next year the "students" are handed a show that is very cohesive and powerful...look out. Because a crown that is consistent across all performance captions is a VERY scary crown. Anyways, here is to winning the show thread caption once again, let's do it again this year!
  4. I personally don’t think the 2016 line was among their best. In fact, of the last 10 years I think it was their weakest. No where near bad, it’s just the others were better 😂. Inferno is my all-time favorite show, and that was a great hornline, however they didn’t quite have the cleanliness and sonority of the lines in my top 4. You might notice that three of those four shows in my top four are heavily orchestral sounds. Extremely well balanced sound with a focus on tonal centers and balance within orchestral chord structures, incredible dynamic control, and pure overtones with a stronger weight in the bass than other lines have (tuba section). The ballad in 2018 is a vast majority of the reason why that line is on my list. These lines handle subtle yet incredible difficulty from a soundscape standpoint with absolute class and clarity. For reference, 2015 would be fifth on this list. You might notice by now I have a specific taste in sound 😂. Warm, deep, dark sounds with an emphasis in the low voices. I’m very into orchestral pieces written in minor keys, with dark, mysterious, or very powerful emotional undertones. These lines really pull at my heart strings. 2013 was just the cleanest hornline to ever touch the field, so of course it would be on my list 😂
  5. I think this has evolved into the best hornline of crowns since 2013. My top four crown hornlines are now: 2012, 2013, 2023, and 2018.
  6. Anyone else notice that the guard and prop staging is in a large crown in the closer during all of the big fast movement the brass is doing? This is just before the brass goes in to the crown set.
  7. Also that brass feature in movement 4 was squeaaaaky clean last night. It’s incredible how much this line has cleaned in the last two weeks brads wise even with all of the new changes.
  8. Haha was watching the semis run from last night. It seems there was a brand new “mute feature” in the show. Go watch the video up on the popular site. You’ll see in the fourth movement around the 30 yard line on side one 😂. There’s an audible cheer from side one when it is kicked to the sideline.
  9. They really must be deliberating pretty hard right now haha.
  10. I wonder…has any corps channel passed 250 pages before 😂.
  11. What’s crazy is this show can still grow a lot before finals night too. So much potential this snow has. They have added and cleaned literally every show since Atlanta. Also I hate that Flo changed camera angles literally as soon as the purple silk came out at the end. That was meant to be seen from the high cam perspective.
  12. Oh man they added a crescendo at the end of the ballad that just sent me. Ugh. Perfectly placed. Some of these impact moments are soooo much more impactful now that they are squeeeeeeaky clean visually and musically. Wow.
  13. Anticipation is growing by the hour for me right now. Definitely wishing I could make it to Indy this year.
  14. The guard has plenty of time to stage and open a silk like that. I could definitely see that happening. It would bring the house down for sure. They held that final note out *very* long last night. Almost too long. I have an odd feeling there’s going to be another moving line musically there to finish the snow out come Indy.
  15. Love the standing ovation Crown got as soon as the crown snapped in to place. All of these changes made in the last week and a half have really added so much momentum to the show. It’s all starting to tie together really well. Also noticed they added some drill in the other movements that aren’t the closer too. Awesome. Cleaning it really well too.
  16. Love the standing ovation Crown got as soon as the crown snapped in to place.
  17. You know, it’s amazing how much they’ve changed in the last week and yet they have cleaned it *so much* that’s like the fourth new ending and it looks like it’s been in for a while. Makes me wonder how long all of these changes were being worked on in rehearsal before they went in in a show.
  18. woah. Not only was the brass feature jn movement two cleaner and LOUDER, they changed it even more! Wow!
  19. Thank you. I figured that was what that meant but didn’t want to assume and be wrong.
  20. Also happy to see that that gap between BD and the rest has gotten smaller.
  21. It’s a show day! Should be a fun show today. Excited to see crown show out for the home crowd. I expect crown to be electric today, and wouldn’t be surprised if the crown set is unveiled tonight however it will probably be an Allentown or later thing.
