  1. This is from the Crown instagram page. Assisting Visual Designer, Jeff Sacktig and Artistic Director, Rick Subel will be a newly created Choreography & Visual Production team under the leadership of Andy Ebert (Production Supervisor) and Tyler Edrington (Choreography Supervisor). We are also excited to welcome our latest additions to the choreography team; Mike Jackson, John Escalante and Kassie Gonzalez! carolinacrown.org/staff
  2. I can’t wait to see what kind of brass line they field this year. They are always amazing, but each one tends to have its own flavor, it’s own tone quality, and own personality. I am curious which one we get this time around. It seems the hornlike talent has been skyrocketing the last few years again. Wonder if they choose a more aggressive flavor or a more sultry flavor. I guess it depends on the show design of course. Also intrigued by the staff changes. Wonder if there will be more.
  3. Welcome to the 2023 Carolina Crown thread! Thought I would start this already, first thing I have to say is I am really curious how this design team does next season. A lot to be learned from this year. All of the performance captions are doing amazing. Percussion getting a lot better, guard picking it up too. I really want to see these performers get handed a show design that knocks it out of the park and see how it comes out in the end.
  4. I definitely think the lack in dynamic variability is hurting crowns show a LOT this year.
  5. I have been trying to give some critique and credit to all of the corps I have commented on tonight.
  6. That show holds the same kind of emotional value to me as a Sparticus or inferno did. Absolutely incredible. Awesome dynamic range throughout the entire show that added soooooo much to the GE for me.
  7. My only critique of this show is I wish there was more dynamic range because they do that sooooo well. But oh wow the resonance of that last chord in the ballad.
  8. I think that tear at the beginning of Crowns show and the guard problems because of the sudden onset of that wind may have hurt crown a bit tonight but otherwise a pretty good run from them.
  9. Also remember that this show was missing a brass judge tonight so scores aren't completely representative but close enough. Congrats crown, on to Houston!
