An oboe player the caliber of the musicians in modern DCI could be a great addition. I used an English Horn as a featured soloist with the band I wrote for and taught a number of years ago; it worked well for us. I recall Broken Arrow having a WW quartet that included a bassoon and oboe a number of years back. It was great.

New math standards: Crown 2019 + Oboe Soloist = Amazing

  2. Then there's the other rumor.  The rumor that George Hopkins has gained 200+ pounds and he is actually running DCI from his basement somewhere in Pennsylvania.  After all, he does seem to have a direct line to the "Supreme Being", the "Creator Deity", and the "Principal Object of Faith".  😂😇😎

from the last available news story, it sounds like what today was about:

The judge did not issue a ruling from the bench on Bergstrom’s motion. Hopkins attended Wednesday’s proceeding but did not address the court. The prosecution on Wednesday did not take a position on the defense’s request.

The judge set a Dec. 17 hearing on the defense’s motion to dismiss the charges. Assistant District Attorney Matthew Falk declined to comment afterward on whether the two sides were discussing a plea deal.

So the judge could have made an evidentiary ruling at yesterday's Dec 17th hearing?  All the info we can ascertain from the court docket is that a status hearing was scheduled for March 5, 2020?  In the spirit of Court TV, I would renew my subscription if FloMarching would cover the trial & provide a live stream.

It does look like GH was actually in court.

It didn't copy/paste correctly.  I corrected it for their participation status:

  5. I think it was scheduled as an official "Hearing" for today.  Here is the record for today's hearing.  Looks like a status hearing is scheduled for Thursday, march 5, 2020.

Hey Hop. You’re done. You’re out of the activity forever, regardless of what happens in the courts. Your name is crap in the drum corps activity. You lose.

Wait a minute, hold on; "he's found Jesus".  (Or maybe a religion of convenience?)
Disclaimer:  Not judging anyone's status with God.  Just an observation.

I really don't want to derail this discussion but that just isn't factual. In 3 years of Sacktig hornline drill I saw four five season-ending injuries: two three knees, a hip, and a testicular hernia.

FTNK said "testicular". 😂  One of my favorite prop shows was BD '14 that looked like a yard sale.  😎

Luckily, he wasn’t sitting behind me at Zionsville.  There are things more important than drum corps, as hard as it may be for some people to believe.

Think his wife "set him straight".  Several folks heard his comment & there were a few moans.

  9. Well, after the Cadets performance at the Zionsville show in June, some guy behind me said "I'm almost ready for a 'not guilty' verdict to bring back the old director".  After viewing their production several times this season, I "almost" agree with him.  ("Almost" with a strictly selfish motivation for their past productions with Jay Bocook arrangements.)  The percussion were outstanding and the only reason I didn't go to the restroom.  Nothing against the student members, but the "frankenstein" production at the end of the season was just hard to enjoy.

  10. SOLD

Anyone need (1) ticket before I put it on Stubhub?  Section 140 low row in the front ensemble.  I'll be at prelims mid-day then probably headed to the lot.  I have a hard copy as well as an eTicket.  (You would need a ticketmaster account to transfer eTicket.) Face value + my ticketmaster fee.  Please send a private message & I'll check back periodically.
