I don’t think SOS was ever held at Harlem High, at least when we marched. It would have been at the old campus because the “New” High School opened in Machesney Park in ‘75. I always remember it being at Boylan HS.

just an FYI… I started taking Prevagen about a year ago. I now have the memory of a jellyfish!🪼

Just what my wife states that I need; 'no brains but the ability to learn & form memories'. :spitting:

This is the court schedule stuff - what will be interesting is if the actual complaint and especially deposition transcripts become available.

The full filing documents maybe available on the link provided in the Reddit post. But I didn’t want to sign up & add another password, etc. I’ve got way too many passwords. 🤷‍♂️😂

Thanks for the background. Is there a lawsuit or legal case wrt SoA? Or does the issue consist of MASSIM complaints, reddit threads, Facebooketc.?

Yes, but they haven't made any public statements to date. From the incident prior to their suspended tour in 2022. DCI is also named in the lawsuit.

I don’t sit down there anymore.  I’m already deaf enough.

I have to sit in the blast zone to cover up the ringing in my ears. Wish we had of used hearing protection in the 80s & 90s. I'd stand on the sideline if DCI would allow, but Mr. DiCarlo would probably call for security. I do have some old staff badges. Hey... 🤔🤫 😂

First off I wish all the victims here justice.

Second ,  This has Nothing to do with the Current Cadets org and to add them to a 20 yr old suit and deprive these students of this is just wrong .

Third, This had nothing to do with HOP . This was not even a staff member . This was a friend of a staff member . and should have been brought up on charges 20 yrs ago.

Someone needs some "Monsters Teach You Math" & I think 'HOP' is actually named in the lawsuit. 😂

He made it sound like he's going to take the whole first season before really implementing any change. I sure hope he has good ideas how to make the activity viable moving forward. He wants to think outside the box to figure out how to get more revenue and sponsorships and to get DCI back on ESPN even was mentioned. I appreciate him doing this interview! I'm cautiously optimistic.

I mean, espn airs corn hole, cheerleading, pickle ball, & the spelling bee competitions.  Seems like there should be a larger audience base with the number of students, educators, parents, grandparents, etc that participate in music programs.  In addition, they have multiple channels & espn+. I've never really understood why they don't air the college band competitions on espnU.

The top leader of Cadets at time was later convicted of sexual abuse; some allegations predating the current lawsuit.   He used his position in the organization to obtain victims.  When victims complained to others in the organizational leadership, they were told it was “George being George”.  The top leader set the tone on what was tolerated in the organization.   And 40+ years later the chickens have come home to roost.

Question. (raises hand from the back of the room) I was thinking statement #36 was just referring to GH as an agent or employee as a staff member.  Was GH in a leadership position in 1982? When did he become the director?

It seems like the judge overseeing the case may know the history of the Cadets since the events of 2018+ as well as the nefarious acts of the stated individual?

decent interview. questions could have been a little harder hitting, but he's been on the job for 2 weeks. i do appreciate his honesty about not being from within the activity

After the first 20 minutes, he saying the right things.  In addition to the obvious issues, I hope he works to promote the activity on a national & international level. He did seem to address this issue & maybe has some ideas brewing.  Gotta finish the last part later today.

My kid crashed my car the first time he took a girl out on a date.  About a week after he got his license.  I wasn’t mad. I was just glad they were safe.  I couldn’t say much because I crashed my Dad’s car into a guard rail because I didn’t realize that overpasses freeze over first

So you're the reason we have the "Warning: Bridges Freeze First" signs.  ⚠️😂

We got in at the airport HGI. We’re going to go to the hall of fame on Tuesday before we go back to Cincinnati.  It’s senior day 😂

Senior day? So, does the tour starts at 5am? Tour guide talks slower & louder? Snack & nap time around 9am? Sorry, this is my schedule on my off days.  Nothing like a mid-morning nap.  😂

How expensive were the surrounding hotels if you don’t mind me asking?

I haven't been since pre-covid, but back then they were similar to DCI Championship week.  Our percussion convention (PASIC) is also that same week in the convention center.  Lots of band stuff, percussion, & percussion artist last week. The exhibition hall is really noisy.  (Some vendors have sound proof booths.) There are sound restrictions & rules in place, but... 🥁😂

So, is "Santa Clara Vanguard 2024" going to be performing a HBCU Bridgemen style show and eat Twix bars for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?

So, what are you really trying to say? I'm down with Twix 24/7.  Even the peanut butter version...

    As I recall, yes.

IIRC this was filmed in spring 1985, but didn’t come out until fall.  Idk how many in the commercial actually marched that year (no overage restrictions for commercials).  1985 was their final season with the Christmas show placing 26th.

Cool! Great info; I guess with the 70s & 80s slings they all look kind of like the HBCU style. 😁

  14. We just had our traditional Veterans Program this week sponsored by our elementary schools.  We even had a Coast Guard veteran in the house; they're sometimes overlooked.  It was great!  I'm just wondering when they'll add the Space Force to the "Armed Forces Salute".  Guess we'll need a rewrite.

Thank you Veterans for your sacrifice & service to the 'best country' in our little world! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
