  1. I agree with you contraholic, 100%. I enjoy the feedback, be it positive OR negative. Makes me work that much harder. See ya on the 50.
  2. Frank and Curt are soloing in the Alumni corps with Jimmy on the podium. We miss them all, too, but we have Michael "Gordito" Ferriera (Act I), Mike Celia (Processional Call & Toreador March in Act V), and Jose Oliva (trumpet solo in the end of Act IV and the Bull Call in Act V) as our trumpet soloists this year, and they are all doing an amazing job. I don't think we 'really need' Curt and Frank, and they would be the first guys to tell you that passing the soloing torch to new talent is a Caballero tradition. Gordito has been soloing for Cabs since 2001, and this is the first year for both Mike and Jose. I'll say it again, these three guys are upholding a great Caballero tradition and are playing and marching extremely well.
  3. What's the weather forecast? Any lake effect snow predicted? :P :P Oh wait, it's been like 115 degrees up there all week. I hope it cools off for game time. And is it turf or grass?
  4. Great times. Great friends. Great drum corps. And Tommy Wilbur's picnic. I LOVE HAWTHORNE!! See you on the bus!
  5. I just get on the bus and look forward to icy pops after the Orajell parade. :P
  6. thank you Mr Moore. And I <3 STANDBY!! Bobby and Eric are the BEST!!
  7. Very excited to get on the bus at 1am and get to Rochester! Can't wait! See ya'll Saturday!
  8. Oh, wow. Yeah. Great show as was the 2005 Madison Carmen Project. But this is not your grandfathers Carmen (as arranged by Dennis Argul), or Caballeros (Cos would be proud of us) for that matter. Everyone should come see the corps at a show this season to 'further clarify'. PEACE. :)
  9. That is by far one of the most fun parades I have ever marched. We stopped and performed more times then I can count. The drummers do the 'charge the crowd' thing at the end of the closer, then Gary said the hornline could do it, too. We had a BLAST!! Some horn players actually ran the opposite way to unsuspecting spectators on the other side of the street a few times. The fans ate it up and we loved dishing it out. VIVA LA BRIDGEPORT!!
  10. Not at all. I was just pointing out that our production this year is not the 'balls to the wall' production we fielded last year. We were all power and balls last year. This years production calls for finesse and controlled power. I know we have a great time performing it, and I hope the crowd and our fans love watching it and enjoying it.
  11. Not sure an opera is supposed to "smack you in the face", but after being in a 64 man hornline last year with some dead weight, I'll take my hornline this year that is quality vs quantity. Do we have work to do? Sure, all corps do at this point. I hope you come to another show some point this season Bucbari, and have a better opinion of ALL the corps marching. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
  12. CABALLERO PRIDE!! Come out to rehearsal and see what's going on. you will not be disappointed!
  13. Great pics! Thanks for sharing. Great one of Cabs in the pinwheel and me 2nd from the end!
  14. I prefer running around in the drill and then playing a pretty solo. Makes for lots of fun in the breathing department. HA! <I GET JOKES>
  15. Yes Frank, that was me, thank you so much. And thank you for all the support and wisdom from the Cabs 'Super Soloists' before I took the field. (Thanks for that trick Curt, it worked!) I'm looking forward to the rest of the season and what we Caballeros are going to accomplish. See ya'll in Bayonne!
  16. Our guard program isn't even finished yet. We were very happy for them last night. They work hard as do all the guards I saw warming up last night.
  17. I was pleased with the outcome last night. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
  18. There was a substantial crowd. I know, I was on the field...
