Welcome to today's "cancel culture"... Sad really.
This has absolutely nothing to do with "cancel culture."

Just grabbed some food to go from one of my favorite places in Indy. Now going to smoke some green, sit back, and enjoy the rest of the corps to come 🙂
Lettuce?

I think a common dream is you are performing in a show but don't know the drill.

Who is the British narrator for Crown? Juliet Mills? Love her narration.
Perhaps the intro would be more effective if it was Nanny Fein.

Phoebe Figalilly...
As for Juliet Mills being a Crown fan, I think someone posted that as a joke.
Then again, maybe she gets together with Madonna to have tea and cucumber sandwiches, while discussing Crown and Bridgemen.

I'm more a conductor guy when listening. That is, when not drumming out things on whatever nearby surface is available.
Something I'll never lose is walking in time with the music....left foot first. Happens with all types of music. Then, when I suddenly find myself right foot first, I chuckle and just think I've joined the Cadets.

I'm curious as to what type of dance you've done to drum corps.

I have yet to see one here. I don’t live on a canal though, either. I have seen snakes, gopher turtles, and a family of bobcats.
I was once on a project for a company in Fort Myers. They had a fairly large alligator in a nearby pond that would often lay down in the middle of the driveway leading to their head office. It would cause a traffic backup for employees as they waited for it to move....on it's own.
One day we had to walk from the head office to a nearby building. A colleague looked at the pretty grass and took off her shoes to walk through it. That's when I learned about fire ants.....she was covered in nasty bites after that walk.

While people are concerned about the heat in Texas, they might also be concerned about the mosquitos.
-
The current DCI uniform trend of all-white, will probably change to “all-silver” in an effort to combat the heat of the Texas tour.
Unfortunately, it will be mean members can no longer play their instruments due to the limitations of the heat-resistant head guard.
Narration will soon be joined by pre-recorded music.

Her an I got married in Vegas once after a crazy dinner at Tao - marriage only lasted 6 and a half hours, so it was one of her shorter marriages. Wasn't meant to be, I guess.
Did it end after you met her family?

So much free analysis on DCP.
Too bad it's from armchair pop-psychology wannabes and not trained professionals.

yes - very cheesy and annoying, on purpose in fact, hence the use of the British nanny/teacher voice.
This Nanny?

I bought a cape from the Crossmen souvenir booth in '82. That thing was very well made. I don't know what I did with it.

I used to have an '82 Vanguard t-shirt, but my cat ate it.

And that the best use of narration in drum corps in general (IMO) was the Einstein on the Beach text in the ballad in Crown 2013 (though there's an argument for Colts 2015 here as well ETA also Crown 2007).
Crown's narration was also live. It wasn't pre-recorded.

You can tell it's a band and not a drum corps because the uniforms aren't white....

To be fair, we wouldn’t all be so critical of Phantom this year if we hadn’t hyped them so hard after Concert in the Park
The criticism is mild in comparison to other years.
The sounds from Concert in the Park are still there in every performance.

The guard design is horrible. That staff should’ve been trashed after what they did last year.
Another opinion I have. I will never condone the firing of anyone because of a placement I don't like.
We have people who love this activity and who work with young people to give them the experience of their lives. Let them give that experience. Let the people who receive it speak for what they felt being a part of it.

Sorry, that's not going to happen, and I'm a homer! They want to play part of the 'game' but corps like Boston, Devils, Crown and even lower rung corps like Mandarins have gone 'all in.' Until Regiment does that, they will be the Pioneer of the top 12, that cute corps everyone likes but doesn't challenge for a top spot. That said, these are design issues, not member issues.
Just my opinion, but I suspect that if Phantom went "all in" they would lose a key part of their identity that the crowd relates to. They are quite far from the "Pioneer" of the top 12. I won't go into pre-season predictions and current placement, but when they play there are a lot of audience members that fall in love with them.....again. They have on multiple occasions brought back the love that the audience feels for them.
I don't want them to adopt the current style of upper-echelon corps. I want them to remain true to why I love them.
