Continental I have great memories of marching that show, this is the first time I've seen a video of finals that year.  Comparing it to today's shows is like night and day.

I love how the drill continually flows.  Everything just so clean.

There's one set that JB repeated from '80 (well, almost identical).  The rotating arcs that meet in the center before the brass/guard pass through in the ballad are very similar to the opening arcs in Easter Overture at the beginning of the '80 show.

Thanks, men.  I knew my memory wasn't completely gone. Thanks for the visuals (when GE meant more than just lavender and lilacs.)

The guard back then was tough as nails.

Suta, was John Brazale running the guard program for Phantom back in '79?  I thought he started with the guard and then moved to visual in the 80's.

No amount of furniture changes that.

IKEA really should sponsor a show.  Overheard in the stands during said show:

"I can't pronounce the name of this show."

"35 pages into the drill and I still don't see how this all comes together at the the end."

"I can't wait till they add the matching end-tables at the end of the season."

"That drill in the upper right hand corner has become too tight and it's caused a crack."

"Is it me or is there a part missing in the show?"

"I thought this show would be quick, but it seems like it's never ending."

"Why does everyone stand in the aisles during the show?"

Yah, here's a photo of himself in partial red which PR's p.r. used in the announcement of his transition from Rome to Rockford. (Wonder if everyone in the corps will have to have blond hair by the time the season ends, ha, ha.) I'll look for a real red photo from previous archives.  The Joanettes in red for 2nd half of '19 show was stunning to say the least.

Looking back, Phantom has had red as part of the uniform on multiple occasions.

yeah there used to be this place called the off topic forums where a bunch of us posted all the time. that count hasn't really grown since 2007, but thanks for playing.

For someone who doesn't take this place seriously, you spend a lot of time here.

also heard uniforms will be all red since BAC and SCV have relinquished that powerful color. Regt. has already done the white, the black, and the tan. I think their conductor wore red at some time in Rockford's history.

While not being all red, there were multiple times when they had red as part of the uniform...the latest being 2017 with the red accent

REALLY wish Cadets would tackle the Ambient music genre. There are so many ballads that are just WAITING to be played.

The ballad from Paul Lovatt-Cooper's "Immortal" would be perfect for Cadets.

But please oh please go back to maroon and gold.

The point I tried to make four pages ago.....

I would write a supportive comment, but yesterday I was emotionally scarred because you and I were accused of being a tag team duo.

As soon as I stopped hyperventilating, I looked up "rent a safe space" on Google.  None were to be found.  I rushed out of the house and luckily on the corner of my street there was a cardboard pop-up safe space (great idea Fridgidaire!).  I curled up on the floor of it in the fetal position as I pondered life and all things about it.   A good amount of time passed (as well as a nearby skunk) until I began to think of ways to turn this unfortunate event into something more positive.  Unfortunately it started to rain and the walls of my safe space began to bend.  It was time to return home.

However, while thinking of ways to turn this around, I came up with a show idea for HGTV called "Trading Safe Spaces."  I feel it would be quite popular although they need to be careful which designers they choose for the show.  Hildi would probably cause more emotional damage with her designs.

Sadly, in current America, differing opinions are labeled as randomly and casually throwing out some type of repressed hate...and deserve to be shamed. In other words, opinions you don't agree with are to be shamed. Very open minded of you!

There is hate out there.  A lot of it is obvious hate.   Your generalization does not make it any less horrendous than it is.

Employer says “climb up there and yada yada”. Employer doesn’t provide safe climbing equipment. Such as a spotter, someone to hold the ladder and so on. Employee falls and gets hurt. Hard to see how employer escapes responsibility for this. Plus the employee was never paid any wages?  Oh boy.

The staircase props from this year's show might have been put to good use.

Someone like you with the experience you have on this board is the last person I would expect that response from.

So it must be the cold taking over your body and making you a completely different person than you usually are.
