You have a Blue Knights and Crossmen not unexpectedly but surprisingly pushed out by pre lims by BOTH Colts and Troopers... they make finals for the finals for the first time in decades. You have Bluecoats surprising all of us tying Boston for 2nd, and who knows what will happen tomorrow. I'd say this year is one of the better years of toss ups of turn out! Cadets firmly snag 6th against all expectations. Cavaliers don't make 11th, but are likely 8th. Lot's of oddities! Look deeper 🙂

It's not easy being an underdog. I don't want to say much more to prevent me making an ### of myself, but Blue Stars are without a doubt the most underrated corps of the top 12. 2018 Stars was such an amazing show for me. My aunt that I never met passed from cancer and her favorite band was The Carpenters. She was very important to my dad. I showed him a clip of the opener, and idk it just made him make a face. Very touching. So. Idk I just really love that show so much.

Ya'll... chin up! Crown was great tonight. The scores do not matter. All of you have voiced your love and excitement for the show and I think it's shown through the screen and even these forums at times! I've always quietly enjoyed this show all season bc I don't care what people think. If you watched that ceremony happening as they announce the scores there's corps from top to bottom visible (some not even in top 12). Not one of em is having a ##### fit. and that says it all doesn't it? 🙂 Crown is so so fantastic and we all know it, especially the people that like to irritate ya'll so much about them ;) just remember that before you let them ruffle your feathers!

that was the first show I've ever "seen". My brother and mom went to see a show somewhere, don't remember. Probably in NM back when there used to be NM shows. I was... 10. Saw a video they recorded. I thought it was such a fun show! Went and saw shows and my brother march years later.

Yes, the uniforms use a Chinese New Year coin attached to a red tassel I believe. If they were going for a "chinese themed show" I could see why it bothered people. It's no one way or the other. Listening right now and this movement they're playing sounds very Scouts Malaguena "Arabic/Spanish" style. It's a mashup of culture. I don't wanna speak for other people like I said, if anyone from any culture feels offended by it they are entitled to their stance.

With the Colts show, I guess I never really saw it as cultural appropriation. It's the silk road, east meets west. I figured the different cultures (clothing fabrics, patterns, fashions, silk patterns, lantern props) were what one would find along the way and take with them on the journey. That's what they were trying to go for, I think. Although I usually try not to speak for other people. I just didn't get tone deafness accusations with the concept. I've enjoyed this show very much all year.
