  1. Relax guy. If you notice I used the word "personally". I know I am in the minority. But I just like to spend my money enjoying the OCs. I more appreciate the groups that build from scratch. I have the same feelings about the New York Yankees and all the other teams that have the money are more popular.
  2. Don't worry he is just a bias ex member. LOL
  3. Well said. I personally enjoy the little guys more so than the big boys. The smaller corps are more enjoyable to me because they remind me of the glory days of drum corps. Nowadays we have corps doing movies, having endorsements with major instrument companies, and selling their sounds to Virtual Instrument Technology Companies. Nothing is wrong with that but it just goes to show why the big corps are trying to get rid of the smaller ones. Lets keep the focus on the youth I say. It doesn't take rocket scientist to figure out what is at work here. Drum Corps kept me off the streets and out of trouble. That is one less person in jail.
  4. I agree with you Kieth. I see Boston took a trip to the West early this season. What was that all about? I guess they can afford it so why not. The minute DCI started to intervene in the scheduling which means corps from certain regions that were now member corps had to travel outside their regions, everything in my eyes took shape. More expenses were the main reasons why we don't see much corps anymore. Why not leave the smaller circuits alone and wait for a major region to have a showdown. I really enjoyed the way it used to be. We never saw the big boys until DCI East, DCI North, DCI Midwest, etc. Now you have corps from the east travelling all the way across country.
  5. 27SoCal, I agree with you 100 percent. I was trying to make the same point. It is a disgrace to humanity. It is no longer about the development of the youth. It is now a business. I made the point before I saw your response to include the Canadian Corps. We knew #### well ahead of time what was going on. And what the intention of the higher forces in DCI were. I personally used to enjoy watching the smaller corps more so that the big boys. I lost interest when DCI eliminated the local circuits and made it DCI Atlantic. I was sick to my stomach. There would be no more Garden State Circuit. There would be no more Eastern Mass. Circuit. Etc,...etc
  6. I am sorry but this has been the goal of certain people to eliminate the smaller corps. I thought from the very get go that this was the wrong approach. They actually squeezed out entire drum corps circuits. Where are the Canadian Corps? In 1981 and 1982 when I marched there were nearly 100 corps competing in Montreal. Now you are lucky to see 30.
  7. I totally agree with you. Do not fall asleep on this corps. Don't even fall asleep on them for this first show. They are Cadets. And this whole thing about inexperience is ridiculous. These kids marched on the biggest stage in Drum Corps.
  8. Fusion- 73.2 I'm wondering if they are thinking they should have stayed in Class A. Looking at the pack above them I don't seem them passing anyone as the year moves on. I know there is more to the decision than just that but being competitive is certainly part of it. I would like to see them do away with this Class A Division. Either you got it or you don't.
  9. I spoke to someone in the Sunrisers and they said they had new uniforms. Where are the new uniforms Sun? And where are the new horns? Your looks count for something.
  10. Hello to all my fellow Drum Corps Lovers. I am from the 80s so I do not agree with a lot of changes to the activity. I also like a lot of changes. In 81 and 82 almost 100 Drum Corps competed in prelims and now less than 40. The changes had plenty to do with the demise of so many corps. I miss the activity the way it was in the 80s. Devon

  11. Malibu, what corps do you have on that 1980 DCE video? Is it open class or class a
