  1. NakedEye, Brilliantly said. This is especially true when all the screaming people drown out the #### poor audio feed levels in the theatre near you. Grrrrr! Glad I'll be in Indy.
  2. saxfreq1128, you don't have too, they did it to themselves, and NOT in a Good way. I'm from Boston, and very untypically the BAC guard, was far from what we Bostonians would call "Wicked" tonight. With numerous dropped or flubbed, rifle/saber tosses including that devastating GE downer Closing Rifle drop, Flo caught on Close-Up YIKES! I am still scratching my head on how the judges came up with straight "1"s REALLY! In this former Fenway/Kenmore Square resident's opinion, the Crusaders drop in score, could very well be the incentive they need to fight BACk in Indy. Count this Boston DrumCorpsRelic, BOSTON STRONG!
  3. How could you not...this summer, you can Thank THE ACADEMY for further ingraining into your/OUR brain the "Oompa-Loompas" Song, LOL.
  4. Sadly OldSnareDrummer, "It just wasn't meant to be." The real consequential after effects, and disappointment of the Corps not even achieving Top 15, thus left out of Fathom's/DCI "Big, Loud and Live" August 11th Cinecast, is also a serious recruiting tool loss. The full impact could (hopefully Not) weigh heavily on recruiting in the Corps return in 2023. A C A D E M Y . I WISH THEM ALL "WELL" IN INDY. i'LL BE IN STANDS YELLING MY LUNGS OUT IN FULL SUPPORT OF YOUR MARVELOUS 2022 "WORLD OF MY/YOUR IMAGINATION" PROGRAM AND GOUGING ON ALL THE INFECTIOUS CONFECTIONS YOU'LL BE SERVING UP TO ALL YOUR FANS IN THE STANDS! IT WILL BE SO YUMMY! GODSPEED! THE FANS ARE GOING TO EAT ALL YOU OOMPAS LOOMPAS UP! ENJOY!
  5. OBSERVATION: THE ACADEMY with its production of "A World of My Imagination" has returned back (not that is ever left) to the Creation of what many are saying is more Fan Friendly Favorite show. However, I find it concerning that the Corps scoring trajectory is noticeably lagging, compared typically to their previous Top 15 shows. All the Elements are there: From the Classic Look in Purple Tux and Tail Uniforms, to a quite Sophisticated yet familiar Music Book, to an extremely demanding and well executed percussion book and battery, along with it's nearly 40 member guard displaying perhaps it's best command of equipment in performance, that I have personally observed from THE ACADEMY since it's debut in 2004. So why the unusually low/lagging scores. Sadly, I believe I can answer my own question. It's become quite evident that the Curse of the Covid-19+ Virus is the one common denominator, negatively impacting THE ACADEMY and many other Corps performances and scores. Such as the approximately 20+ missing MM from The Academy's Annapolis show and worse the reportedly 40!? missing MM from a recent performance by my beloved "Casper Wyoming Troopers," (who inspired me to march 24" Concert Cymbals in my local Corps back in 1969!) I never "Imagined" that the Corps entertaining "Creation" would see it's score trajectory partially victimized by a Virus. Godspeed to All.
  6. Hostrauser, I Believe, I can speak on behalf of my/your fellow DCPrs. Despite where ever "the heck you are." You can count on being continually followed. I for one as a former Boy "Scout" am sure "You'll Never Walk Alone. Godspeed.
  7. The Race for Gold, from my own former Bostonian neck of the woods, forsee's, feels, and IS Anticipating the Very Real Possibility of seeing the Boston Crusaders, leaving the Devils, more Blue then they would ever care to admit! I see DCI INDY Finals as the "Perfect Storm" in creating an "Upset For The Ages". I felt the very same way for Blooo in 2016, upon my very first viewing of their 2016 "Downside UP" on June 23, 2016 in the DCI Premier show fed to our Phoenix Cinema Screen from Lucas Oil Stadium. I can't wait to be in Indy's Lucas Oil Stadium for a truly stellar "Top to Bottom" Corps Competition for the ages! ironically being held on DCI's 50th Anniversary. My fingers and Toes Crossed for all the Corps to be able to perform at full strength. GODSPEED.
  8. That's Funny. Curious, KVC-DC, Where did you learn of WW's dad being a "Dentist". In one of the movies? Makes we wonder what other nougats, Ummm Nuggets of trivia are delightfully hidden in this Confectious Creation of The Academy's Imagination. SO YUMMY! On a Side Note: I wonder what THE ACADEMY can do to Sweeten up the Judges scores. Other then throwing todays Guard Judge Score in WW's Chocolate Vat! 7th REALLY, guess he got hit in the head by a tossed purple Ball. Just Joshing. I'll go to my room now.
  9. Actually KVG-DC, someone on a prior show tread pointed out, that the second large ACADEMY "W" form actually represents Willy Wonka's Fathers Sweet?! "Tooth". LOL What an incredible piece of show "Trivia", that would turn out to be, if indeed that was the "Tooth Truth." LMBO!
  10. THE ACADEMY BRILLIANTLY provided a very STRONG performance today, despite 25 holes: I counted: 13 Brass, 10 Guard, 1 Snare, 1 Tenor for at least a total of 25 missing. They DID feature a Full Front Ensemble of 17! And their largest Battery of 17 (out of 19) on the field since perhaps Drum's Across the Rockies🤔 Covid-19+ Sucks For ALL! 🙏 for continued healing to all our World and Open Class and Sound Sport Kids, Crews, Instructors, Volunteers, Drivers, and Judges for their full recovery and participation as the Summer Tour continues heads towards Indy in Good Health with Godspeed.
  11. Luv this entertaining and nostalgic show! And the Corps Blue/Orange colors perfect. Except for the Baby Blue Polyester leisure suit/pants are embarrissing 👀distractingly, in that they reveal too much of the marching male members "Junk." I highly recommend the guys be provided with appropriate "Dance Belts". Pronto! Designers should have caught such an unsightly fashion Faux Pas at the outset. SHAME ON THEM. Yes, I am a former fashionista and taught Ball room dancing.
  12. TROOPERS with 40 Holes 😱 that is 💔 heartbreaking and I am sure has to have a negative impact on Morale 🤔. Sending you Healthy Vibes. Godspeed.
  13. wigwam (A Great Resort in Litchfield Park, AZ) LOL. Sadly, the reason for the poor show runners decision not let the Blue Devils and Crown perform at "Nightbeat", MAY HAVE been more sinister then we would ever come to believe. DCI knew #### well that the U.S. Marine Silent Drill Team was in the house. (unbeknownst to the rest of us, nor listed in the order of performance. ) I suggest, The "Power's Too Be" knew in advance of the drill teams "Unscheduled Appearance" at the end of the show. In knowing that, and not until approximately 10 minutes AFTER Rondo announced to the crowd that "due to an approaching storm cell the decision was made for the protection of the performers" that the Blue Devils and Crown would not be performing. Good Ole Rondo further announced that it would be best if the crowd made it's way to their cars and that the scores would be released on DCI.Org. If the showrunners were so concerned about "protecting the performers" why in the hell would they let the U.S Marine Silent Drill Team take the field, with rifles affixed with Bayonets, to be tossed between the Marines! Really!? And sadly and shockingly watch one rifle toss go astray, striking a Marine in the hand and falling to the grown. Apparently that "Storm Cell" had been put "on hold"?! The only thing "wet" on that field was all the crap the powers to be and Sir Rondo left behind on it. Sadly, IMHO, The DCI paying Fans leaving the stands were screwed out seeing Blue Devils and Crown perform. All perhaps, for lying reasons!? However, if, and that's a mighty BIG IF, the actual Corps Directors themselves did pull Blue Devils and Crown out of the show. I stand corrected and I apologize to all. But still, being the old "Doubting Thomas" that can be, I can't help but think in the back of the mind, that the decision was made with a little extra performance fee going to the corps in leu of letting the U.S Marine Silent Drill Team take the field time that rightly belong to the two Corps, and the Fans there to see them. I respectfully close with a SALUTE to the Commandant's Own Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and its Silent Drill Team. Your a never ending inspiration to me, the USA and those awesome DCI Alumni who will follow in your footsteps. Godspeed.
  14. Hostrauser's, I Just wanted to send my best wishes, and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as you recover from what has been ailling you, as mentioned in your last Week 4 - DCI Power Rankings. Take Care. I appreciate all the work and passion you put into your appreciated weekly updates, that you provide us DCP Fanatics with. More "POWER" to Y O U ! DrumCorpsRelic
  15. Now That, FaustianMachine, was Original and Funny. So sad to have learned that your "First Live show got rained out." Quite Frankly, I would have wanted to shout something else out, and in a not so kind way. LOL. Hope you have the opportunity to catch a "Live Show" in the near?! future, there is nothing like it for a Drum Corps Fan.
  16. Weren't aware of any Cadet Truck issues, Sorry to hear though. I thought the intermission was in place for folks to head to rest room, Concession Stand, or make a purchase at a Souve stand.
  17. Hey George Dixon, it ALWAYS comes down to "Who you Know." Also it's Biblical: "Judge, or be ye Judged!". I wonder if there might be reliable DCPr's knowledgeable and experienced enough to compile a "Ranking/Scoring sheet" for scoring DCI Judges." Perhaps a informative guide (Cheat Sheet!?LOL) or tool for Drum Corps Fanatics to better understand how to Judge a Judge in better understanding how Corps Scores are determined. And lets be honest, manipulated. It's is also true that "Money Talks and Corps Scores can be Rocked." Yes, The Truth Can Hurt.
  18. EDITORIAL: With my Humble Opinion. I've been following DCI since 1972. NOT NEWS TO ME! The Fix is in, and has been from the beginning. Proper, Consistent, Unbiased Judging and fair scoring is a Fallacy. There is too much $$$ talking from the Big Dawgs. DCP'rs while often hated, lambasted, aren't afraid to speak the truth, naming names and constantly pointing out the inconsistency and specifically pointing out the "Too" influential judges causing other judges to perhaps Second guess themselves. You Think!? It's all in the Cards, problem is too many Joker's spoil the DCI Deck. In Closing, I must admit 2022 DCI Competitively is as exciting and as tight as I can ever recall. Shame the "TOP 15" can't be featured Saturday Night! And the Bottom 5 are quite impressive themselves.
  19. Obviously conditions were dry enough for the drill team to perform....but Not for the Blue Devils and from what I can see possibly even clear for Crown. I charge someone for Premature Decision making! Unless Blue Devils and Crown made the call themselves. So Sad for the Corps and the Fans.
  20. So the U.S. Marine Silent Drill Team to perform. In the rain, Rifles with attached bayonets, are they nuts! Please God, No Bloodshed!
  21. Good Catch IllianaLancerContra! I rather did enjoy the U.S. Marines modestly numbered and proficient accompaniment to the "Drum & Bugle Corps". LOL
  22. Sad Call! Hope the design team gets a raise. The Void, is a terrific PC tribute to DCI's 50th Anniversary, just in case you didn't realize it. If that's the case you are forgiven. But this CorpsRelic suggest you read up on some DCI Corps history. Enjoy the rest of the show.
  23. YES!!! PURE DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS! sans Performing Color Guard (it would be very cool if they could incorporate their Drill Team Though!), and Thank you God, No Pre-show, Friggen Props, No Singing, No Costumes, No extraneous body work, No Ear Busting Electronics. TRULY, AMERICA'S CORPS: With my sincere apologies to my beloved Casper Wyoming TROOPERS. But Features a beloved musical book we all have come to know, cherish, and anticipate with Pride of Country. SALUTE!
  24. Your concern sincerely appreciate. And to add to the misery. The Academy also Missing 5 members from the Front Ensemble also Missing one of two Sound Engineers thus the loss of perhaps 90% of the Narration, sound effects along with the majority of the Soundscape/Tonal manipulation. Makes the Corps seem "Bare" in places.
