  1. Because SIMPLY! the production crew doesn't know how to *"White Balance" their #### Cameras! Just my humble opinion as a veteran Television Broadcast Cameraman. *Something so "common sensical." The on-site or remote, engineer/director needs to have this all checked out during Pre-show set up.
  2. Sure was!. But it also displays how vulnerable a Corps performance becomes with the loss of it's Electronic Audio Cues, Narration, Singing, Sound Effects, and soundscape/tonal manipulation. In my 7-years of marching Corps back in the 20th Century, not ONCE did we experience nor had to fear of such a "loss."
  3. Yes Brassboy, it certainly has and heartbreakingly, has gotten so. AND! we've just reached mid-way into the summer tour.
  4. This has to be gut wrenching for the marching members. The Poor Battery missing 5 Snares, Two Quads, yet they sounded and looked absolutely and terrifically strong. The 66-Brass Members did some serious Butt kicking Too. Wishing them all a full recovery. Good On You! SADLY!, "COMMON SENSE" HAS BECOME AN OXYMORON. DCI/Corps need to better safeguard the hardworking, dedicated and talented marching members and their performances for the remaining summer tour. I think it be prudent that THE ACADEMY, and perhaps all Corps (if they haven't done so already) take further precautions closing all, non-staff, spectator on-field personal visits, along with closing to the public ALL out door rehearsals along with all Pre-Post Show visitations to the Corps Busses and staging areas. It only takes ONE infected and indiscreet individual to devastate a Corps ranks and potentially obliterate future full-field Corps performances, if not upend the remaining "competitive" summer tour. Godspeed to All.
  5. Hostrauser: Wishing you all the Best in what ever serves your Highest Good! Know that what doesn't Kill you Makes You Stronger. More POWER To You! 🤞🙏🤗
  6. Not sure. However, interesting Corps Score jumped over 1.5 points with the Corps membership better GE exposure with the Grey Vests and long white shirt sleeve with removal of Corps Jackets/Hats. While originally dismayed with choice to not wear the Coat tails and hats. I WAS pleased with the bump in score.
  7. Make that 3 snares. Also few missing from the 39 member Guard. "Holey Moley" so sad. Get Well Kiddos, I want to see you ALL Shine!
  8. Yes they have, and there is more in store, NOW I pray their Covid Kids can recover, so sad counting 10 holes today. Man, the Battery really got hit, missing Three Snares and a Bass.
  9. The Academy has been in 12 LIVE Flo webcast including todays. As someone mentioned if you happen to miss them in any of those shows, you are are to "rewind" during each show to either catch what you missed, or watch your favorite Corps Multiple Times. It is a wonderfully entertaining show.
  10. Poppycock thank you for sharing, you raised my Spirits a mile high! I am a cognitively challenged. For years Friends of mine would personally tell me, and years later (after keeping my Piano playing and His Music in the closet), I'd eventually would come to accept my truth, as a Gifted, self-taught Pianist/Composer despite my inability to read or write music. Your absolutely compassionate and angelic response to the air-piano performing lady left me in tears! Like you brilliantly said "You Never know what you are dealing with." I hope you came to the realization (as she did) that darling, in that miraculous moment, you became for that precious soul, *"An Angel Sent". I AM SO PROUD IF YOU! BRAVO And Cheers Mate. * Title of the Debut CD released on 2002.
  11. Terri Schehr, for years, just the mere recognition of your name on DCP, always delights this Old Drum CorpsRelics Soul. I always enjoy and respect your level headed comments and positive outlook on our activity. Please clarify for me, What is meant by "Just remember that when you're in indy, (which I plan to be) because that is what they think of you (Me?) 🤔 Thank You.
  12. CAtenhut, I find that rather sad. Please don' block. For me the Heart of the Drum Corps Activity is the awesome marching membership, passionate performance, marvelous music, the Corps Family Bond, all those road trip adventures and in my Seven years marching under a fully corporate sponsored Corps Marching Experience, all the International Travel and never slept on a Gym Floor. Thank you God, I am truly Grateful. ENJOY.
  13. Incognito365. I took your advice. Upon doing so I realized when I got up again, the old guard in me felt the same way. What is it said bout old dawgs? Laughing with you 😉
  14. So sad for all the Covid kids. I don't ever recall THE ACADEMY being ummm. SO HOLEY 😱 and Out of Uniform in a competition.
  15. Oh YES!, and IMHO, happy it's Not! But heartsick for the singer. Let me be quite Blunt and NOT PC! DCI Get a 🤬 clue. I don't spend Big Bucks to listen to "Singing" in Drum & Bugle Corps Competition! That's what "America's Got Talent" is For. Nothing in my 57 years of the Drum Corps experience, 7 years as a marching member, will convince me otherwise. That also goes for all the unnecessary, excessive narration and over amplification (Why with Brass lines numbering in the 70's), and Monstrous Erector Sets and fields flooded with Props. Sorry, guess I am having a bad hair day. LOL
  16. Yup "Acts of God" can play havoc, as it especially did during THE ACADEMY Performance of "Dodge/Kick Ball". My heart sunk watching The Large steel Willy Wonka Entry Gate collapse. The Corps marching members Brilliantly kept their heads while flawlessly performing a fall free drill, How the guard maintained control of the flags and tosses in such intense winds was amazing! Despite the fact that the Corps did ummn...lose their balls!? NO PUN INTENDED. Their GE score should have recieved a generous bump for creative integration of equipment. 👍
  17. The Real and Most Concerning question(s) are, under such temperatures and gawd awful Humidity, will the Corps be allowed to perform in Denton, Period!? That quite frankly that sounds insane, and I Live in Phoenix (Academy Territory) but we enjoy!? a "Dry Heat".
  18. The Wind certainly played a contributating factor to the flubs. Maintaining those flag spins in such extreme wind conditions surely will add some Gusto to the to GE Scores! 👍
