  1. ...and the last time phantom beat The Cavaliers was???.... b**bs
  2. I marched in the Geneseo Knights from '85-'87 then went on to the Cavaliers. I think a big part of the Knights demise was a lack support in Geneseo, which had, and probably still does, a very strong musical program in its high school. There were only a hand full of us actually from Geneseo that marched and we couldn't recruit anyone from the high school level. Also, the Knights didn't have the best repution in Geneseo. Any one who's been there knows that it's a very small town and these "unruly" Knights folks were trouble in the eyes of the town. I also think the Knights staff also made critical mistakes in the eyes of DCI in the early-mid '80's that didn't help their cause too much either. When I marched in the Cavaliers, the Knights became known as "the Cavalier feeder corps" due to the fact that a lot of us that marched in the Knights ultimately ended up in Rosemont. I think a lot of us left out of frustration. Several others ended up going to Phantom, Garfield and SCV during that same time. Sometime, listen to the '85 Knight rendition of Jesus Christ Superstar. That show is one of the all time best drum corps productions. And we did it with 35 horns!! Great show, it still gives me goosebumps listening to that one...
  3. Well, maybe if your bass drummer wasn't such a candy ###, Lloyd wouldn't have gotten beat... b**bs
  4. Gee I hope it was actually football players as opposed to some corps scumbag you should have been peeing on. Yes, I'm sure it was the football team. We stayed so far out of Madison (Black Earth, if memory serves) that there was not a sound of another corps for miles. We also had several conversational exchanges with those meatheads as well...
  5. I don't know about this one, maybe someone can confirm. I do remember one great story from 1985. The school we were staying at had their football team beginning their practices during the time we were at Camp Randall. When we returned from Quarterfinals, we discovered that a lot of our personal items were missing from the gym. We quickly retaliated and found their football gear safely stowed away in their vented lockers and proceeded to use our God given gear to water their helmets and pads...I wonder how their practice went the next day.
  6. Most underrated shows in my opinion: 1985 Madison - loved the guard 1989 Phantom - incredible horn line 1984 BD - simply "WOW" 1983 Knights - should have made finals 1985 Knights - Jesus Christ Superstar - awesome show from a smaller corps. It's amazing how a smaller corps can crank out a full hornline sound! Of course, I'm biased because I marched that show... 1988 Cavaliers - Firebird Suite, young corps - we worked our butts off to make it up to 5th place.
