I think it's pretty funny all the rumors that supposedly occured between Phantom and BD. Most are untrue. Of course we were rivals! But we never discredited BD for their win in the late 70's, nor would that have carried over to 1980. BD was awsome in 1980. Regarding BD and the slide clinging to annoy us, never happened in that way! Stood by them enough to know! And if it had who would have cared!

I remember I was with Phantom somewhere in the South when we got the news. Everyone was stunned! It's amazing to this day that Jim has not been forgotten!

Underrated in terms of Judging!

I'm very surprised no one has mentioned Phantom's first year doing Spartacus. The entire show was ahead of its time as a (Theme Show) Although it didn't get the acclaim during it's season, many have expressed how it helped pave the way for the future of drum corp! Just ask the Cavies.
