I also heard it called doing the technicolor yawn and paying homage to the porcelain god. -

I had a weekly run that took me down to Baltimore and around the suburbs. I loved listening to WGRX. Like you did, I went down a few years later to find out the format now sucks!! -

Ya know, I never had an issue with someone leaving Westshore to march with someone else, I always assumed they had reasons for doing what they did and never held it against them. I myself would prefer to march Westshoremen if the on field unit were still active. Since it's not, I'll continue to do the alumni thing for this year and see what happens with SiB. -
Strangest Place You Ever Played A Standstill

Hey Bob, I know we played in the disco in 1981 when I was with the corps. We also did the gig at Penn National horse track for the Governors cup. We played in the morning for the start of the 5k run and I think we played a few times in between races but not sure. I know we went out on the track and did minor drill right before the trophy race. Like Steel City Ambassadors, we also played for the Lady Keystone Open at the Hershey Country Club in Hershey PA. Nothing like marching down the fairway to the green and hoping you don't trip over a sprinkler head. They did take pretty good care of us with liquid refreshments though. -

I know I can't carry a drum anymore, but I would be willing to do plates for parades. Whatever it takes to keep the corps alive. Jeff, I'm with you. Come last note of show at SiB, I'm going to be bawling like a #### baby. I like the idea of what Uncly Larry has in mind and can't wait. -

Ok, that makes sense. I misunderstood the story as it was relayed to me. I can see Pepe doing that and George laughing at it. -

Only because you were able to outrun them. Those were some "big boys" chasing you. -

I remember back in 1979, I was trying out for Reading's bass line. I know everyone talks about the fire in George's eyes, but like others, I got to see it first hand as well. Just unbelieveable to see that fire in his eyes in November. He was truly a class act all the way. Due to my dad's work accident, I was unable to continue with Reading. He was one of few who came up to me in 1981 and was happy to see me marching somewhere. The one thing I will never forget. When Pepe took a bucket of sand along with for George to drive his mace into due to being on a field of artificial turf. -
