Honestly??? I would pull back everyone on the board ,,appoint a interim independent non bias and hire a independent investigation firm to vigorously investigate all of the claims immediately ,, conduct all the interviews and come to a conclusion of how to proceed with the season. If that means putting the season on hold a month or two till the investigation proceeds to a point where you have a direction its going to take then so be it. If you find during the course of the investigation that a house clearing is necessary then you take the steps ..clearnhouse and start from scratch.

I don't think DCP drama is hurting anyone. I think the Allegations and the Conduct of GH is what is hurting people at this point. Any discussion at this point is just a by product of the Allegations and GH Alleged conduct. It sure seems where there is smoke there is fire.

I don't think it will be up to JUST the investigators that YEA hires. I think it will be up to some CRIMINAL investigators that want to look at the case now that its come to light. Some of these have alleged incidents have happened within the Statute of Limitations.

I still think there are going to be a lot of people in the teaching profession that knew of GH reputation. Does that make them guilty? IMHO not if they had indirect knowledge. Such as they heard he was a creep or was told to stay away from him because he was creepy. Ive heard that said about various friends and or people I have marched with over the years and have never seen that side of them and it never stopped me from being friends with them.So I can't really say that makes them guilty. Now if they had knowledge of some of allegations and did nothing... Such as the Sandusky case where people were informed of GH acts and buried it or stood by and did nothing..then they need to let the chips fall as they may.

IMMA still willing for time for the investigation to conclude but day by day with more victims coming forward with what appears to be credible accounts with dates and information... people with what appears to be good morals that did not come forward before because they did not want to see The Cadets and Drum corps go down With GH..... It make one wonder if there is not alot of truth to the allegations. I gotta say it sucks to be George Hopkins right now.

Watergate and Sandusky case were good examples that once a story broke others came forward with information. She is just making her self more accessible to the public. I really don't see anything wrong with it if something good comes from it.

I agree that not everyone was a serial harasser/rapist but the climate was certainly different. No doubt.

Exactly the point I was trying to make. When I was in my Late teens I was dating a girl that was 17. Im sure I could have been brought up on charges even then. Today I would no doubt be on some sort of registry for my acts. But we really were into the same things and hung out in the same crowds and really didn't think anything of it at the time. Neither did her parents. She thought I was a good kid and good influence on her compared to some of the guys she was dating at the time. So they didn't have a problem with it. In no way am I making excuses for George . He has to man up and take responsibility of these allegations are factual.

Lets call GH what he is . He killed every tradition in Drum Corps. Just not the traditions at The Cadets.

If the allegations turn out to be true GH was from that era of drum corps . It won’t forgive his behavior but it might explain it .

The chips should fall as they may. if you knew something and did nothing ur as guilty as Hiw Paterno was portrayed in the HBO movie Paterno about the Sandusky stuff

I just wonder how many parents complained to Cadets or YEA over the years and it got silenced ? It seems we are hearing Bout a bar incident where a father approaches GH about inappropriate behavior . It will be interesting to see how deep this may or may not go .

I watched Paterno on HBO tonight. a lot of striking things jump out at me . Reporters grab onto the initial story of allegations of child rape from a authority figure and don’t let up on it . Investigation uncovers that others that knew and when when they knew it and that they looked the other way . Sandusky was the main target of the investigation but others around him went down for knowing about it or trying to keep the truth from coming to the surface and or failing to report it when they knew about it ,

Yeah I think all of this talk about about kicking him out of the HOF is just a knee jerk reaction to the seriousness of the allegations. At this pint they are just allegations and I am more than willing to wait to hear them out .

They had a TOTAL obligation to protect the kids once these ALLEGATIONS came to light. Had it been one single Allegation coming out of the clear blue sky???? Maybe they could have taken the stance they did and did a internal investigation and see where the investigation took them and said nothing to see here. But when 9 women come forward essentially saying the same type of thing I feel strongly a jury down the road is going to see it differently. That they DID HAVE a obligation to protect the kids and at the very minimum ask him to take a leave of absence till they sorted the whole mess out. They could have called it a medical leave of absence to have a foot look after or a knee operated on. Anything to get him away from the kids and out of pocket. NOW??? It will come down to who knew what and when and if the allegations turn out to be true that they left him in charge and around the kids to perpetuate his activities. You can bet they have opened themselves up to liability. Not only to criminal but civil. Of course this is all based on ALLEGATIONS at this point.

Personally I don't know how Kristy Templins Relationship can withstand the test of this unless its a really strong one. Time will tell.

What you have to understand is not everyone thinks as level headed as you and I do. Im not going to start Jumping ship on Yamaha or System Blue or anyone that is associated with Cadets over Allegations or heaven forbid it turns out these allegations turn out to be true. But there are people out there that will do JUST THAT at the drop of the hat. Especially something as serious as the nature of child rape. Everytime there is a school shooting and some TV advertiser promotes a gun product or something people come out of the woodwork to ban that TV show/station or what not. Ditto in todays political climate with anything having to do with Trump. If its pro Trump or favorable to Trump then its gotta be banned or blacklisted. Ur attempt at Humor was poorly timed and stupid.

Why would you do something so insanely stupid like that when there is such a serious subject at hand like the allegation of a child getting raped??? SMDH Yamaha has a brand to protect. Do you realize how much money you could have just cost them?? Geeze if I was them I would be breaking out the lawyers.

What they knew and when they knew it is what will be at the crux of the matter. The Sandusky case proved that.

Definitely if I was in GH shoes I would NOT be saying ANYTHING at this point and time.

In almost every case I have followed where Sexual Misconduct by a teacher/instructor has been ALLEGED a pattern of behavior starts to come out of the woodwork. MORE victims come forward telling their stories that were afraid to before the arrest/allegation. NOT saying this is the case here. There have only been allegations so far and I am more than willing to wait for the investigation to unfold . I am no Fan Boy of GH. I hate what he did to the World of Drum and Bugle corps. With that said I would totally expect George Hopkins to have a consensual romantic relationship over his 30 something years with a staff member over the LONG summer months. I mean its his really only contact with someone while he is on the road. If it was not forced,,,,totally consensual and not somehow a product of Sexual Harassment or Harassment from a Authority Figure then I really don't have a problem with those type of relationships. That would have been between him and his consensual partner. Totally NOT cool with him having any sort of relationship with ANY marching member regardless of age. Totally inappropriate. Perhaps LONG after they aged out or something like that but even then its sort of iffy.

That was actually the case then . He just did not think he should have to pay for them as well .

Hopkins caused a huge riff his first or second year in DCA when he tried to refuse a age old tradition of his members paying and staying at expensive over priced hotels at DCA championships because his corps could get free housing . DCA negotiates these rooms and has to guarantee so many rooms at certain rates on bids . George didn’t like that and wanted to try and shove his weight around . It did not end well
