  1. No- the bickering was useless. There's no need to hit ignore but there is a need to use the private messaging feature! :)

On topic- Tilted snares from the Cavies? I don't think they'll suffer. And I don't think that they will let these horrible lines prevent them from giving it their all on Finals night.

Was the post about not spending ANY time dressing, rather ONLY going to dots true?

    or hit report.

  2. We may never know what it did or didn't do for the corps who choose to or chose to use the tilted drums, but I think the pitch of that drum probably makes it a lot easier on the left arm tendons of the players.

Even guys who carried their drums on slings will tell you it's harder to play and you do more long-term damage on a flat drum with trad grip than you do on a slightly tilted one.

    That's just basic ergonomics.

I'm no snare drummer, but physiology seems to dictate that the tilt is better for the members who play using that grip style.

i agree 100%. my HS line changed back tho, because we just couldnt get the look to flow looking in.

  3. Didja like what you saw? hahahaha!!!

Not sure yet....I'm off the whole week, we're doing day trips here and there, and the only solid plans are to be up in Wilkes Barre for the 4th, 5th & 6th (Gotta Dave Matthews concert on the 5th) Other than that I'm looking at like Inner Harbor, NYC, and who the ____ knows where else that week...Oy Dios Mios! Margarita Cha Cha!!! Jeeezuz could you imagine a "Shatner load" of drum corps people SLAMMED on Tequila for a show? We'd all be dancing when the Cabs were on! hahaha!

Uncle Larry commands you to be there

  4. he he he ....we could get a room full of victims together and threaten to show them the video...UNLESS they pay....we'd be able to finance TWO corps !!!

Hey what's the crack about the corks? Congrats to you and Humm on your new digs. This year I have been so house poor it's not even funny. BUT, thank God I have great neighbors and there is always beer at someone's place...last week, I was in the living room and my neighbor walked in the back door and took half a case of Coors lite out of my kitchen...last night I went into his basement and took half a case of Yingling back

Ruthie, i always think of corks when i think of you.

havent met the neighbors yet....closing is the 30th as of right now, so we'll see how they like me when they see all of my "help" on moving day :P

  5. Having worked the DCA Alumni Spectacular for several years, I suggest that all go to see it, including competitive corps. It honors our vets. The Cabs competitive corps go every year to honor their Cabs brethren/sisters and all other alumni. It's a touching tribute, not lost on the fan$.

At alumni shows, one will see corps that do no drill, that set up in an arc and blow the house down. Others do simplified drill, although it can get a bit complex, like the Caballeros Alumni. I love their off-the-line openings -- Great history! While all have lots of park 'n blow moments, most/half of the alumni have some drill, too, including the Yankee Rebels and St. Joe's. St. Joe's likes to take their drill right into the fence, with Ace Peterson leading the way.

Just like DCA Minicorps, each year there seems to be more drill.

I believe the Kingsmen Alumni are admitting non-Kingsmen. I understand the Cabs Alumni now allow non-former Cabs. Most alumni corps welcome any willing performers.

that's the most accurate description i have ever seen. thanks Cozy!

  7. exactly. the possibility is there, but it has to be done so it doesn't bankrupt DCA.

while DCA is still strong in the NE fan wise, in other areas, the fan base is still growing...to rush and do too much soon could cause a lot of damage
