  1. I actually think these scores are pretty accurate. Most of the guards in prelims who attended the Austin Regional 2 weeks ago actually saw a drop in score. I don't think being out of the judging activity has anything to do with being able to tell what good colorguard is. Lets face it... as much as we would like to believe; our activity has not changed too drastically in the past 15 or so years. Maybe you could be a little more descriptive on what you are dissapointed with in the judging community, cause at this point it just sounds like your upset that your "home team" didn't get the score you thought they should've.
  2. I guess since you are in texas you can attend the Identity open gym on may the 2nd. You should check it out! www.identitywinterguard.com
  3. I just want to give much love to the university of louisiana! You where robbed, and I think every one who saw you light it up in semi's would agree. I loved your show and thought you all where just great! It sucks that WGI rewarded you guys all season, and then said "just kidding" I still love you! Kyle Identity IA
  4. If you can, you should look to get in touch with Marleta Mathews who was on staff with the bluecoats for the past 4 years. She Marched in the 27th lancers, and State street Review back in the day. She has been in the colorguard and Drum Corps activity for so Long. She is currently on staff with Center Grove HS. Defently try to get a hold of her. I am sure she can give you a lot of insite on Women in Drum Corps, and a woman who is still teaching.
  5. From what I saw in San antonio and at their Rehearsal in Pflugerville Tx, It seems like their vocabulary is higher than their achievment. If you are anyway involved in the colorguard activity, you know that the spread between the Vocabulary and achievment should be no more than .2 or .3. So either it needs to be cleaned and achievement increased. (which is what you should be striving for) or the Water hose needs to be taken out and and choreography needs to simplified. Thats my two cents as a colorguard person. Kyle
  6. Having marched the 03 capture and escape show... It was not enjoyable. LOL. That show was the redheaded step child of all the five years I marched. Sometimes you gotta take chances though I guess
  7. I teach the colorguard at the HS we are talking about. Small world
  8. Ok, So not to be a bitter betty, because I am not. I just want to get some other people's educated opinion. So it was the first time I was able to watch my 2003 finals performance (in the bluecoats colorguard). After watching bluecoats we watched both Madison scouts and Boston crusaders. I was almost dumbfounded as to how these 2 colorguards beat us in finals. I will honestly say that bostons book was well written, and I can say the same for Madisons...but from a clenlines' and execution standpoint. I as well as others in the room where really confused... - I am not bashing these other 2 hardworking colorguards...but I would still love to hear others opinions. Thx alot.
