  1. While there is a great corps to the east. Its almost 5 hours driving to them through and around the mountains. I know some students in the cookeville area that would love to audition. This gives an avenue for those students who cant make it out east to see if they have what it takes to make a corps.
  2. I think this is great! There are a lot of students in east Tennessee that want to march drum corps, especially in the knoxville area. Look forward to seeing whats produced this season. Good luck Troop!
  3. Ok..... in 2003 when we were in Orlando for championship we had a day where we were going to Disney to do a parade and then some free time. Well being in the position I was in as the drum major, I decided to have a little fun with the corps. We had worked hard, as all corps do during the season and the corps was looking forward to the afternoon off. So I asked the brass caption head to get on the bus and say he needed to speak to me in a very serious tone. I get on the bus and tell them that after the parade we were coming straight back for a 5 hr rehearsal block, of course joking. The corps knew that I was pretty funny guy so they were waiting for the "just kidding" ending. I sat in my seat and just let it set in. My seat partner meredith said I would never be able to get her...... well we pull out of housing and you hear people talking about the 5 hour block they are going to have to do. I stand up and say...... ohh there was something else I needed to tell you. The look on their faces was priceless..... it was a moment where everyone thought the same thing..... what else are we going to do. I sighed.... gave a real serious face and said........ I was just kidding about the five hour block. Ended up at the bottom of a dog pile of people. I know.... I know..... kind of mean, but drum majors got to let off steam some how.
  4. Ill be there too. My family lives there so "killing two birds with one stone". Time with the family and drum corps.
  5. Really looking forward to this show. I hope we get to see atleast one more video.
  6. Pioneer's April Camp is coming up this weekend! Hope to you see you there. Better Every Day!
  7. To begin with I would like to say I saw many of you ladies and gentlemen during your winterguard season and talked with many of you, you all were really great! Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps will be having their audition camp for guard the weekend of April 30th. All Flag and weapon line spots are still available so come be apart of a DIV 1 corps for the summer! Our show is called Celtic Impressions and features music by Robert W Smith. We also close with Lord of the Dance and River Dance. Its going to be an amazing show and a great summer. If anyone lives down around the southeast I will be arranging a ride from Atlanta area to Milwaukee. If you live along the way we can pick you up. Email me if you would like more details. Purvdawg82@yahoo.com Everyone take it easy! See you at camp or see you during the summer Better Every Day!
  8. Hows it going everyone? I am the DM for Pioneer and I wanted to post again about the positions we have in our guard. We had a great turnout for december camp and it is looking to be a great start. We are so close to getting a full corps on the field. Pioneer is back to its Irish music, but the stuff we are doing is what made Pioneer so successful in DIV 2 and 3. We have four really great instructors this year! Jan Camp is where we basically want to set our #'s so even if you arent sure about Pio, come on out to next camp. (Jan 16-18) Fill out the online application at http://www.pioneer-corps.org Call the Pio office if you have any problems with travel. We do have a Corps Bus that picks people up at Ohare at around 7 on fri. The reason we are looking to set #'s is because Pioneer is having Feb. Camp in New Orleans during mardi gras to learn the drill. We are wanting to get as much on as possible. (There is going to be a little free time I am told) It is cool if you have conflicts with winter guard, most of our girls do, head out to this next camp before things start to take off with winter guard. Just contact Pio office to let them know whats up. I wasnt sure about Pio when I first joined, but it has been the best experience of my life, Dont miss out on something like this. Better Every Day!! If any of you want to talk....I have IM..... its the same name I post under.
  9. Yeah We are wanting to get as much on in Feb. as we can. The visual program this year is going to be the best Pioneer has seen in a while. We want to come out for the first show turning some heads. Better Every Day! Josh
