They’re better than crown 17 for sure, that was an atrocity, especially with a horn line like crown’s being relegated to accompaniment.
But still ruins the show regardless, it does not supplement the horn line in any way. Which is a shame because their horn line and overall repertoire is really, really good
I thought 2017 Crown was a well performed vanilla show until the vocalist started. Show was smoking from the ballad to the end. To each their own....

Is The Academy ballad from "Chess"?

Everyone likes to rip on Flomarching, so it seems only fair to compliment them when they do things well. The audio is 1000% better than last night.

The Impulse brass cover more of the field while playing than Vanguard does. Much improved from last night. I expect that to be a trend tonight, now that the first show jitters are out of the way.

For 5 years 2015-2019 I did the same thing to secure tickets. I was on Ticketmaster the second tickets went on sale. I would purchase 2 tickets in the first 4 rows of section 140 for finals night. I would then immediately move to Friday night to purchase 2 tickets in section 640. Never had a problem until this year.
Logged into Ticketmaster and got in the queue 20 minutes before tickets went on sale. The moment they went on sale I was able to purchase tickets, but there's was not a single seat available for purchase in sections 139, 140, or 141. Friday was fine...I currently have 2 tickets for Friday night in 640. I had to pivot and buy 2 tickets down low on the 50 for Allentown.
My frustration is DCI did not communicate at all that there would be no option to buy tickets in 140 through ticketmaster the day they went on sale. I would have jumped through whatever hoops I needed to to secure my normal seats. I would have joined Friends of DCI if that was required, but it was not necessary 2015-2019. As of now I dont have tickets for finals. If I am not sitting in the first 4 rows of 140 I'm not going.
Incredibly frustrating.

They were very uncooperative with the producers of Cheer. They wouldn’t allow any access to video of the Daytona Beach championships. And the President of Varsity actually said on camera that he didn’t like that a cheer team was participating in the show. I wouldn’t be even a little surprised if they find a way to squeeze out flomarching and take over the streaming of DCI events. I’m not saying it will happen but I wouldn’t be surprised if it did.
Varsity already broadcasts on Flomarching.

I think the 2021 season worked well without scores. We need scores for Championships, but in 2022, do we need scores at EVERY show? What if during the week shows were not judged, and corps could continue celebrating their history/identity while honoring 50 years of DCI. During weekends/regionals judges judge, scores/placements are given and we have a 2022 DCI champion. Week day shows become cheaper for the show sponsors, and fans get to see the 2022 shows with instant encores and small ensembles included. I would gladly go to a Wednesday night show without scores yet still pay for Flomarching so I could see the "competitions" on the weekends.

Multi cam seems to be okay now. Missed the back half of Pacific Crest...one of my favorites this year. Luckily I will see it live tomorrow in 140 row 1.

Glad Troopers made the trip to Indy. Dig the uniforms. After tomorrow, I will never listen to their 2021 show again. Its loud. Don't know what else to say about it.

Wasn’t that Oregon Crusaders?
The only tree trunk uniforms I remember were from 2016 Oregon Crusaders and their show "Hunted".

Well this be the first time in history that Cavaliers immediately follow Colt Cadets?

An email to tell you we have nothing to tell you!
Yet if they don't send that email, folks will complain that the DCI office is not doing anything. They are literally in a lose/lose situation.

Its really hard to listen to this mini episode and realize its "bias" pure bias.
Maybe they should stick to doing collaborative research on the best ballads in the past 40 years and or how nobody pays any attention to things like DCA.
This would imply they do "research". My guesstimate would be they get 25-30 percent of their information wrong.

The answer has to be 2000 Southwind. They were 12th or better in every single caption and 13th overall. The only top 12 corps in history to not make finals.

1998 Cadets is my least favorite championship show ever. All sections were great, but the overall show was a snoozer for me. Give me Vanguard 98 over them...
