  1. great review lancerlady.... i agree all the way, and i think as far as GE, magic and boston are probably the top shows.
  2. yeah, basically we have a lot of talent.... i've always been a 5 bass kinda person myself, but we have a good audition group this year... and we want to give all of them a chance to march. Also, I forgot to mention - we have also formed a cymbal line, with 4 of those - so the numbers for Teal Sound stands - 6-7 snares 3- 4 tenors 5-6 basses ( the "definite" 6 went back to a "possibilty" of 6) 4 plates 9 pit the line is going to be set at next camp, Feb 13. we are still looking for some mallet players, however. we also expect to lose probably at the most 4 total spots before our tour starts - so we are playing it safe with big numbers. If everybody stays, great! If we lose a few, we are prepared.
  3. I have added a new marching percussion soundfont set (Drumfont, if you will) to the first version that i put together. This is from a completely different sample set, and includes solo snare as well as full snareline sounds, shots (orskanks, depending on the drum) for each tenor drum, as well as a cymbal font set in the works. If you have any suggestions or feedback, let me know! soundfont are at: Drummin.org
  4. I have been frustrated at the lack of good marching percussion soundfonts available. The only one worth using is Virtual Drumline. There is a lesser known soundfont on the web called marchperc2.sf2, created about 1998 or thereabouts, but its one whole soundfont for 4 different instruments. I have messed around with that a bit, tweaking the pitches and velocity, etc., and created 3 separate soundfonts, for snare, tenors, and 5 basses (no cymbals, sorry). If you would like to try them out, go to http://drummin.org/soundfonts.htm, read the info, and hit me up with some feedback. I would like to get some high quality soundfonts out in the open market that you don't have to pay 100 dollars for. Thanks for any input.
  5. We haven't set an exact number yet, but Teal Sound is looking to go 6 or 7 snares, 4 tenors, 6 basses - the bass number is a definite.
