  1. I'm in it for the goodtimes and the tunes... I stay for the pizza! B)
  2. Chapter 1.) Ohhh man.. The drum solo in 05 was INSANE!!! Best thing I have played in a while. We are gonna keep plugging along and hopefully more people will realize what we got going and want to come check us out. It doesn't take much people. All you gotta do is walk in the door. We have rehearsal this weekend and I personally am not one for to get members; all I can say as someone who has been there for some of the harder years is to come check it out. There is nothing we can say or do to keep you in the corps. It is ultimatly the individules choice to stay or leave, and by all means are entitled to do either. I have not tried to hype up the corps or what we are doing these past few weeks. I am a pretty straight shooter. I have a tendency to tell it bluntly like it is if it is either good or bad. But I am serious with what I have said about the corps. This is truley an amazing thing we have going on here. The people are great and the music is awesome. Like Lee and others have said, and I can back this up because I have been there for a lot of it... There is no infighting anymore. No one is pulling the rank card... The only disagreement I saw all season was who gets the last slice of pizza for lunch... Other than that, things have been greater than they have ever been since I have been here. I can't say on behalf of the entire organization for I am only a player. My job is to play and perform the hell out of my show, to entertain the fans. But as a player, who is in the line and has no real say on what the corps desides to do, I am having a really good time for the first time since I started in the corps. The staff that has been assembled has been the first staff I can actually trust to get the job done. The show is one that I actually believe will get the people to their feet. The past year I couldn't think of a time where I was actually excited to go to a drum corps weekend. It felt more like a job than a hobbie. But woah... This year; with the new staff to teach us; the new music to entertain; and the overall great attitude from the members that are not going to let this thing die no matter how much some others want us to; has given me more of an inspiration to do whatever I can to in some little way help bring this organization back to the powerhouse it was once before! Chapter 2.) The choice is ultimatly up to the individual. I for one am not going anyplace! And as a player, I can only suggest that those of you out there in cyber-space who want to have a great time with some great people, great music, and great pizza for lunch... Come check out the Skyliners. If only for a day. If you are not satisified you have the right to say nay... But I strongly believe that once you walk in those doors and get past the numbers in the hornline or the drumline and actually look around; get to know the people; get to know the staff; and maybe jump into line and play for a while... I guarentee you that you will leave with a smile and just might want to come back for more... The choice is up to you. I can only answer for myself and I choose GARBARINA BABY!!!
  3. I have a bunch of oldies saved to the "my pictures" folder on the PC. But I am unsure of how to post them on here. Could someone help me out?
  4. <------THIS IS WHERE IT'S AT BABY!!! Camp at Dover this weekend! BE THERE!
  5. THIS IS WHERE IT'S AT BABY!!! Rehearsal this weekend... BE THERE!
  6. Saturday, January 27th from 10AM to 7PM and Sunday, January 28th from 12PM to 4PM is our next camp dates and times at the Dover American Legion post! Come check us out!
  7. I can honestly say this... The past 2 rehearsal weekends have been the best time I have ever had since camp in 2003. There is no possible way imaginable to describe what is going on with Garbarina at this point. The only way I can think of to describe it is absolutely amazing! Everyone is on the same page, we are progressing every time we get together... There is nothing but fun and good times! I have NEVER been in anything in my life as good as what is going on now. We have a camp rehearsal this Saturday and Sunday at the Dover American Legion Post! This is truley a 'see to believe' thing we have going on here and I assure you and anyone else interested in the Skyliners and what we have cookin' this year, is something that will blow your socks off and have you leaving with a smile! Come check us out! ~Jimmy~
  8. Yay a new decade! I wonder if I am gonna make the cut... :P Can't wait till it comes out! Guarenteed the next 10 years are going to be some of the best the corps has ever seen. 6 more days then we're at it again Garbarina! LET'S GO!
  9. I was partially a Jet fan... But now I am still a Buffalo fan... Guess I didn't progress much :P . Can't wait for the next camp weekend!
  10. Like I said... Because it is true... It doesn't effect me! Keep 'em comin! :P
  11. I can do nothing but sit back and laugh at the fans of teams who lose super bowls... Because I know my team will never get it! I am a Bills fan and the good thing about it is, I already know they suck. So I can never be let down if they have a bad year. It is the off chance that they might actually pull something off that I will be suprised. But yea... Go Bills! b**bs
  12. Lee, I got nothin but love for ya man! It was an absolute honor to meet you in person, and for you to take some time and hang with us! You are the man! Thanks for all the support you have shown us. It is truley meaningful in ways uncomprehendable! thanks for all you have done for us so far!
  13. TEAR IT UP LOUD AND PROUD ON THE LEFT COAST BABY!!! B)
  14. I think we should all just let it go. There is no since in pointing the finger at anyone. Fusion core should worry about themselves and Skyliners should worry about themselves. Let the shows do the talking.
  15. I like the sound. But it is the feel that I don't like. Maybe perhaps they will develop a kevlar head which delivers the same sound but is easier on the wrists. That would be great!
  16. BOO YEA!!! MORE!!! Is it the 27th yet? Hot #### I am so frigging psyched!!! Regardless what the nay sayers may say about the Skyliners, the people that are there have full pride in what is going on, and this past camp weekend was proof that we ain't going NO WHERE BABY. And we know without a doubt that when anyone steps through those doors they will not leave unsatisfied! The Skyliners have an open door policy! If you want to come check us out regardless of where you have marched before, come right in. But be forewarned, for you horn players, better bring your mouthpiece; and drummers, better bring a pair of sticks. Because once you get a wiff of what is brewin in Garbarina you just may wish to join ranks! Tally ho Garbarina! LET'S DO IT!
  17. I like mylar heads better. Althought the kevlar heads are more tight and bring out the clarity of todays modern drumlines, the mylar heads have that traditional deep sounding 'war drum' sound to it. Like you would hear going into battle. Another thing I like more about mylar than kevlar heads is the feel. I find that playing 10 minutes on a kevlar head kills the wrists, but you can go for hours on a mylar head and still feel strength in your wrists to continue.
