Why don't people like T.O. Confidence is one thing but saying things in an egotistical way well just rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Its not what you say it is how you say it. Sometimes some like me find Lee's comments whinning like. (oh I think we should have won prelims etc) Ok we know you guys are good we know you are loud you all have told everyone (oh oh cathrine burr) ova and ova.. Lee and you all Sell the corps really well. People have been buying it but bottom line is you all have not had the complete product the last few years. Hey maybe this year you will and you can pull this post up and say there haa we do now.. Great for you But when(prior to this year) you don't win accept it as it is not well Drum corps always has had the east coast west coast thing or DCA has it little members gang etc.. Thats all. Funny how word Travels even to the other coast and yes you are right they are in Fine hands. It would be really Evil for me to say anything more.

SO I was checking the website and I was checking out what bands where going to be there. Bands in parade Drum Corps show bands and Universities Found it interesting how they listed them. Wonder how it works. I have heard of something before that some high schools do a drum corps type of thing during the summer.

Hmm good question I believe they did have souvenirs at shows. I belive they were still a member of DCI Just in active. Not sure how it works. Also the other thing is the shows I was at that had the Magic stuff they did have the Mini Corps there. Not sure if there were any shows without the mini corps there

Involved in what way?? taking the number of Jr Corps and their members alone out numbers all the members in ALL age? Then if you add in the parents and the number of shows they do around the country etc. It is way more than All Age. DCA has what ten weeks of competition No they are not the only Cookies but right now there are More Chocolate Chip than there are Oatmeal. The question is which one goes with milk better. :)

Well Now that the positives have been started to come. My hope is this is just the begining, baby steps at first. Like you said it was almost 30 years of the opposite. So its not going to just turn around in a year or two. I know of Some DCA/DCI corps that have worked and are working together to establish some type of common ground. I know some communication lines have been reopened that have been closed. So there is always hope. :)

You know that is true the first few were good comments about the article then it takes a direction off into the DCI broadcast about a simple little bite. Why does it even have to go there. Why could this not stay on topic of the article. The broadcast thing should be said in a thread about that. But no.Someone had to take the poke at DCI in this one So again. you get someone reading saying oh great here THEY GO again. I have to say I was reading and I was like nice so far so good and then the ok here we go. Just knowing it would go off into something bad. Now if I do that and I am one that likes the DCA and understands the differences between the two etc What do you think the Jr corps kid who does not know or has heard bad things is going to do after they read another good thread gone bad.. Next time they see a thread with DCA in it they will just click on by. Maybe then you will realize when asked why not march DCA the responses back as they have been written on here. Because all they do is complain, and Knock our activity JP

You know I have to agree with Stef here . This is a classic example of why alot of the kids that have never marched or seen A DCA corps are turned off about it. Here we have a cool article and thread that could be used in a good light and could be built off of. But someone wants to take a little bit of it spin it and make it into drama. I mean nothing had to be said at all!! So lets take that little bite and run with it. Make that little bit into a huge good. Instead of taking that little bite making into a huge bad. The person wrote. Of course, if you’re still itching to march after an ageout season, senior corps are a great way to stay on the field too! We’ll discuss senior corps in an upcoming article. Troopers slowly paying down debt By TOM MORTON Star-Tribune staff writer The Long Blue Line -- the nickname for the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps -- is chipping away at its big red line of debt. The Corps, dubbed "Wyoming's Musical Ambassadors," owes creditors more than $120,000 and has been applying most of its Troopers Bingo income toward paying down that debt, its interim director Mike Ottoes said Sunday. The proud but beleaguered marching band won't march in 2006, and instead is taking the year off to get its financial and organizational houses in order. "In crises like this, you're putting out fires (and dealing with) what's in front of your face," Ottoes said during a meeting of the Troopers board of directors at its headquarters and bingo hall at 535 N. Beverly St. But the nonprofit Corps must make serious changes to win the support of community, its alumni, those who would march with it in its 50th anniversary year of 2007, and those who consider serving on its board, he said. "We want people to know that we have a plan," Ottoes said. Whatever the Troopers did in recent years wasn't good enough because in late September its parent organization, Drum Corps International, terminated the Troopers' membership "due to internal and external compliance issues, spanning several years," according to the DCI. Ahhh double Bumo.. Guess this would be a Triple Bumo if I was a member but since I am not it's just a regular Bumo. How a simple mistake can be made into something. wonder if thats how Suta, Splooie and others were made. Still trying to figure out the other two though. (probably never will)

Yes I think it would be a bad thing for DRUM CORPS AND BUGLE CORPS. Becaue There would be no differences But a great thing for Summer marching Band Becaue There would be no differences ? What is drum corps to you? How do you describe it.

Felix don't even bother. Because He will use MHO I have mine and you have yours. Some times I think he answers he does just to get reactions out of people. If not then Kool Aid is great if you drink it right.

Yes of course band directors would. Because it would be Band during the summer. Now to me Drum Corps is all brass is it not? Isn't that one of the major differences we say when people ask the differences between the two. How many people say well its sorta like marching band but all Brass. Once that is not just all Brass then it will be well BAND.. Summer Band. I am sure Mike D and others probably say well it marching arts and they tour and compete during the summer etc. But when the person says "well its marching band" does it not still come back to saying .. well yeah but one of the major difference is its all Brass .. Again as soon as Saxes and other are in .. then you will just say well yeah its marching band. No True Major difference between the two. JP

Isn't that what Steinbrenner does with the yankees get the good player to his organization. Although they can only play for one team at a time. You know what. You have your blinders on. Here I tell you what happened but you still want to put it back on DCA corps by asking if the guy marched in a Senior corps before. If I where to say no what other question will you have. "Well did his mom or dad?" Cause you see its in his blood line. BLAH You seem to think that JR is a bed of Roses I guess I should not like DCI.. Because I have heard kids bash DCA on here and outside of here seen kids smoke (Cigs + the funny ones) and Drink (beer) and I am talking from D1 major players to D3. I have also heard of other stuff about Teens getting busted having sex. (and not like 18 yr olds) I could take those as you and assume it must be going on every where. It is a good thing that even though I hear those kids bashing DCA I know there are plenty of others who don't and still would give it a try and see for themselves.

Well this should make you feel a little different. I was at that show you were talking about. A few of the kids I know whom Marches in a D2 corps at that show was telling us about Said Incident. Turns out.. Oh oh get this Ended up being staff Members from another D2 Corps whom got in trouble for said incident. So I guess you have to step back from your Senior corps theory on that one. The other thing was they were laughing about it. you know it was one of those Oh my god !! How do I know this I was in there just after it happened since I was helping out with the corps that day. Good thing i didn't do it because I would have given DCA a bad name because I am older and people would have just ASSumed it was one of them instead of a D2 corps I was helping out ( and no it is not something I would do) JP

Did you see any of the show they were talking about? It has been mentioned. The High Fiving pointing to the crowd ,Playing Rock paper Game while on the sideline

Yeah Isn't it great if you are a very Good player you can be an exception. But if you are not A really Good Player sorry.. We have no place for you. We would put you on the sideline so you could still do what you love doing . You know Competing and Entertaining the crowd with others. But sorry you SUCK!! So you must go off now. But hey if you get some Julliard Training or something like that come back and we can Talk. NICE..
