It's not our fault the guys from your era decided not to participate in our little fun fest! 82? I thought we slid into 1983... -

If Mickey was smart...he would have given us a one point penalty for the stupid birds (and made Hershman buy him dinner or something) and given you guys a one point penalty penalty for wanting to regroup -

I questioned the sources, saying that the sources I've received in the past were substandard, and he just said "you didn't get them from me"... I sent him another email, and nothing! I may have to do something nasty on his E-bay account (or we just pool our money, get a copy, and pass them out!) :devil:/> -

Funniest thing my family ever saw was at finals when they were in Hershey, and they had the lot close to the end zone marked as being for "DCA APPROVED VEHICLES" only, and we somehow got copies of the signs made, and were able to park there... I just remember handing one to my father and going "stick this on your dash, and you can park with us" He NEVER forgot that, and was telling someone about it at his ship reunion a few years back when it was in Hershey. -

I remember standing on the "hill" to the left of the stands, taking my cymbal and stand back to the truck, hoping to get a little glimpse of Sun's performance, and (strangely) signing some autographs for someone, and then looking over at the field wondering why Sun wasn't going on yet when I saw Walter Kelly and some of the other judges trying to get the doves off the field, and thought "yikes!" -
When I marched, I worked at a "5 and dime" store, and since I got a discount (and we sold them) I got a bunch of terry cloth steering wheel protectors for a few of the guys I marched with.

Yeah, it was definitely Sun! I remember standing off to the side and seeing them being held up coming on the field...but I don't remember someone stepping on one of the birds?!?! I also remember the chief judge firing his starter pistol at them to try to scare them.... Talk about a fustercluck!! -

We used to have a Shatner-load of shows in PA! Hershey, Danville, Mechanicsburg, Carlisle, Scranton, Lewisburg etc... I also remember the occasional show at West Shore Stadium... -

Nice! I never got that! (although I DO remember the offers to hose us down when it was REALLY hot one year) (84, I think) The only parade I ever enjoyed was the 1980 American Legion parade in Boston when we did it REALLY drunk! (and carried booze with us on it) -

Cool! I have a question in with Stith about what IS available besides what I was looking for... I figure if I would get a good feel, I'd post it here and tell people what they have, and whom to contact to get stuff...why not? -
I don't doubt you're correct...I remember seeing some old Fleetwood albums that an old friend had. As a side note.. I recently contacted Marice Stith, who did the DCA recordings during the 70's and 80's (and maybe later, who knows) and they apparently don't have the master tapes any longer..but DO have SOME albums left...I inquired about my marching years, and hope to hear back soon. It's just a shame that a LOT of these recordings haven't been properly archived!

Who dat? What he restoring? Even though my turntable is toast...I'd be willing to get one or two of the years that are pretty beat! (if that's all we can get) And if I do...I'd find someone with a good turntable to play it the first time, and record it for me...then put the stupid vinyl away and forget about it! -

I bought come of Charlie's stuff a few years back and it was bad!! I DID get a response from Stith recording..they apparently DON'T have the master tapes, but DO have the odd album left...the person that responded wanted to know what corps I was in and what years...so I let them know... -

Looking at the back of the old albums, it says Marice Stith recording, and I found some info, but not sure if it's all the right info? They had an inquiry form, so I asked if they still possessed the master recordings...my bet is once they were done with them, they wiped the tapes! I also remember a guy named Jag Giamateo who did some of the work...my guess is that he was the engineer...but not sure...some things from those years are fuzzier than others -

What I have doesn't sound great....I keep hoping that the guy that advertises the old stuff in DCW pulls out some of the late 70's and 80's DCA stuff. I guess the "original masters" got wiped since I'm guessing the recording operation wasn't as big as what did DCI all those years ago.. I really wish I was able to capture my albums before they got trashed...
