    I started doing this last year when I went to Spring Training. When I went there, I was looking for a deserving member (maybe the euph line, since that is what I marched) and thought I would take a few days and figure out who I would give it to a little more, ahem, "scientific" thought.  After a few days, Claire Albrecht (the DM) was the obvious choice after watching how she kept the corps on track. No wonder she won the Jim Jones award! 

    The clear choice for 2019 was also a DM and I actually gave her my 37 year old member jacket at the Texas auditions back in Dec and she has been rocking it ever since. Give 'em Hell, Loren! I have a good feeling about this summer and since Loren and I are both Texans (she by birth, me by... well, I invaded the state 8 years ago. LOL) I can say this and any Texan would understand...

    Work your butt off this summer and if somebody wants what you've got, they better... "Come and Take it!"

    The staff says the talent in the corps is across the board better than last year and they have high expectations from all captions. The design team has created a show from scratch and not "band-aid" (though by Finals 2018 it was highly effective with changes) show, but they have been working on this 2019 show since last Fall. New additions to the design team. Great former instructors coming back. A year of planning tour both on and off the field....

    The corps will be fine. What place? Who knows. But they will chase getting as close to 100 pts (which is the goal) with less obstacles than last year.

    Trust me Jeff, you are missing out. I don't "geek out" over much, but this show is very very very well done and the music in the past 3 seasons has been grammy/emmy worthy.

    Thank you, George. Lot's of people busted their butts on this one. But this cannot be done just with one day. We have to get to Sept 1 with all of our fundraisers making budget. There are budgeted and un-budgeted bills that need to be paid to give the 85th corps the summer of their lives. We thank everyone who gave.... 

    More work to do! This corps is going to come with a chip on their shoulder. I can pretty much guarantee that. #onceacadetalwaysacadet

    I have not encountered this in all my years of drum corps!
    Thank you, but with 4 hours left until midnight in Allentown, why not shoot for 400?
    Support Youth Education in the Arts / The Cadets / USBands / Xcape dance company.
     
    Let's set a standard and give these performers all they need to be able to kill it on the field for our 85th!

    HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL WINE AND FOOD TASTING YESTERDAY!

    The committee made up of alumni and friends exceeded budget and brought in more people than ever before in our 25+ year history of doing this event. High praise to them for making this happen!

    Fun day. Also lots of non-drum corps people that came for fun and great wines that just wanted to support a great cause... Youth Education in the Arts.

    Wine, Beer, Food event this coming weekend, April 14.

    • Greg Pych and Jim Messina are bringing their "A Game" with the food and wine. 
    • There will also be a raffle with vacation homes, Cadet memorabilia, gift cards, and drum corps tickets.
    • You DO NOT need to be a Cadet alum (or even a drum corps fan) to attend. Anybody that loves great wine and food, will love this event!

    It does. At one corps I worked for (around 2010) we submitted in November and we had to call and ask a particular foundation in April .... Just to find out we were denied and had to scramble to change the show. I still wonder what that show would have been like with that particular piece of music.
