  1. Thanks Josh. My digital camera can only do so much. I do need better equipment, so whatever you got...BRING IT! See you this weekend! GO SUN DEVILS!
  2. New Sun Devils video on http://www.sundevilscorps.org GO SUN DEVILS!
  3. Good stuff DCA! The site refresh was a welcome change. Kudos
  4. Good on ya Alliance! Why is the Jefferson's theme song in my head? "We're movin on up!"
  5. I hope we get to hang out at DCA this year. We'll have a drink as long as someone else makes it.
  6. Interesting. I have read all of the posts and some interesting questions have surfaced. Nevertheless, I also welcome Vigilantes to DCA! One question that I do have, and I hope someone from Frontier can answer: what the heck are you guys going to play now? I checked Frontier's site and they are doing, "Pastime". Vigilantes are also doing, "Pastime". Both corps are doing the same show? I am not a race fan, but isn't that like stock car racing? Actually there a ton of similarities between both sites. Either way, great job at your massive success!!! Anywho, no mudslinging here. I am wishing success for both corps. GO VIGILANTES
  7. Come on by! North Port has a constant sea breeze which keeps practices a little cooler than Poinciana. It will still be 97, but we'll have a breeze
  8. And were missing 3 tubas when I took the vid. Thanks for the compliment Keith!
  9. LOL! I found that sound bite and thought it would be funny to add it to the end of Canon. I think I am going to start adding little Easter Eggs like that in all our vids.
  10. That's right Donny. Tell Oscar we all say, "HI!"
  11. WOW! And I thought we were quick off the block. You guys are competing this year as well? Sheesh! Good on ya! Welcome to DCA and we will see you on the 50.
  12. I am going to bring this back off topic Vic Kulinski without a doubt has been in my recent memory as one of the most crowd engaging drum majors. Back to topic...
  13. New pics are being uploaded to our site as I type this post. http://sundevilscorps.org/index.php?option...1&Itemid=50 GO SUN DEVILS!
  14. Nope - lazy. I will let the world know when they are posted.
  15. Well played my friend. Well played. On a camp note, I have some additional pics that I will be posting up to the site this evening. Great camp and I cannot wait for the season to get underway! And if you are still looking for a place to call your drum corps home, come out to The Sun Devils! GO SUN DEVILS!
  16. Hey everyone, please take a moment to visit our site, http://www.sundevilscorps.org and view our brand new video. We have a few openings left in each section and we would like to get you in YOUR spot before it is too late. Thank you. GO SUN DEVILS
  17. That 40 yard line marker flew across the field no less than 10 times in a 45 minute period. Luckily North Port High School Athletics left a grill on the practice field. Oh which by the way, the Sun Devils practice field has an official name, "Abu Dhabi". Learn it...use it. The pics on our site will fully explain that our field is in a desert coastal area, much like the real Abu Dhabi. Climate in Abu Dhabi Sunny/blue skies can be expected throughout the year. The months of April through September are generally hot and humid with maximum temperatures averaging above 40 °C (104 °F). During this time, sandstorms also occur intermittently, in some cases reducing visibility down to a few meters. GO SUN DEVILS!
  18. Ahhh, Huskie Stadium. Many a half time show started under the "lip" of the West end.
  19. Alas, a good point. HUGE rainstorms are something to be considered in late August/early September. And thank you to Tom for your vote of confidence. I accept the 2012 challenge. Hopefully the economy will be in a steady state and coming down to Orlando for a destination championship will be a reality. I fully support a Midwestern location as well. i.e DeKalb, IL. I am biased since I am an alumnus of NIU. But DeKalb is VERY drum corps friendly and right smack dab in between 3 junior powerhouse corps. Anywho, Rochester is a fantastic venue as well. They have all of their ducks in a row. I am impressed at the local leadership coming out to the DCA meeting. What a great show of support. I am going to work quite seriously at the 2012 DCA Orlando bid packet. I hope others do so as well. By the way, this is not the whole ,"my corps has to travel farther than your corps" conversation. I trust the DCA powers that be to make wise decisions in regards to future growth.
  20. Well let me be the first on this forum to state that I am disappointed. Sure, Rochester provides value beyond measure when it comes to DCA and being a drum corps friendly area. NOTE: This is my opinion only and not my corps' or anywhere else where I might be affiliated. But I was hoping for somewhere much closer than Rochester. It's the big "WHOA!" on the travel budget. Something great must really be going on in Rochester besides the Dinosaur BBQ I have only been in DCA for 10 years and have experienced 3 championship venues. I thought the next bid submission would bring Finals a little closer to the midsection of the country or crazily enough, closer to the south. But, I do see the positives from the administrative stand point. However, again, I am only expressing how I feel. And if anyone says to submit a bid, I did request a bid packet. But seriously, all of DCA traveling to Orlando/Tampa? Not so much. It would be awesome, but not so much. On to Rochester! See everyone on the field at some point and time this season.
  21. Hey everyone! The Sun Devils have a camp this weekend at North Port High School in North Port, FL. We still have spots open in each and every section, but you need to act fast as spots are filling up. The weather this weekend will be sunny with highs in the lower 80s. And rumor has it that we might be learning some drill this weekend too. Can't confirm it, but that's what I heard. The Sun Devils have made some amazing strides for only being a second year corps. Plus, The Sun Devils Drum and Bugle Corps is the ONLY all - age competitive corps in the ENTIRE state of Florida. Come be a part of something special! Visit http://www.sundevilscorps.org for more info. Click on "Join!" to join! GO SUN DEVILS!
