  1. well with what you did with what you had I would have killed to see a SDA show with 11 horns
  2. So agree with you, their shows always make me want to grab a horn, or drum, or flag and drive up to Sac and try out (even though I don't know how to play a horn, drums, or flag). They just amaze me with what they do despite their numbers, that amazing sound, and a show design that's always targetting the audience just as much as the judges.
  3. okay I'm new to this so I'm a little confused about changing captions. I know you get points each time you perform in a show, but if you want to switch a caption to a corps that cost less points than the one you currently have in that caption (like switching from Cavies to Pioneer in one) do you have to have accumulated enough new points to get pioneer, or can you just switch since Pioneer isn't as expensive as cavies?
  4. YAY! The Spades took the field for the very first time in the organizations history at the Velour Knights' home show in Fullerton, Ca on June 25, 2005. Not only was it the corps first performance ever, it's their director's first year with his own corps, and to add to the corps' "first" motif they won the show! A wonderful evening for the kids to really know the achievements that come and will continue to come from their hard work and blah blah blah. w00t GO SPADES!
  5. After several years of trying to raise the money, find the staff, and a bunch of other dramatic things, the Spades Drum and Bugle Corps, from Santa Clarita, California, will be taking to the field this summer in Division I competition. In their first year the corps will be bring to the field one of John Williams most brilliant and moving scores in their show "The Music of Schindler's List". More announcements to come, including the unveiling of the uniform once an image is available (although it has been designed, just needs to go digital) and the announcement of the tour schedule, once I feel like copy pasting it into this thread :)
  6. "Okay so I put every DivI corps that has made finals playing Malaga in the poll" I did that because otherwise there would be more choices then the poll would let me have. I hope I haven't offended anyone by not including their corps.
  7. Okay so I put every DivI corps that has made finals playing Malaga in the poll. In some cases it seemed stupid to me to have to separate things to vote on like '75 and '76 Oakland Crusaders, or Scouts in '94 '95, but I haven't heard every show so I wouldn't be able to justify putting them under the same voting bubble thing because for all I know they are entirely different arrangements. My personal favorite? 1973 Argonne Rebels; I love the arrangement, and I love that hornline.
