  1. Sorry, all I have is Div 2. ECJ 90.1 Fever 87.3 ECJ advances to evening Div 1 show Saturday night in Manchester looms as the showdown for the top two corps in D2........... GO EAST!
  2. Don't take offfense, none was intended. Many corps know how to do what it takes to go all the way - Mandarins in particular. This is the first time CS has ever come to championships in a position to do so. It's all new to the staff & members. Congrats to them for getting this far!
  3. Their last score was an 86.3 - Spartans an 89.7 & ECJ 88.6 Blue Stars are much improved over last year, but the vis scores (ensemble & guard) will keep them out of contention. With some captions (brass, GE vis) look for a few more corps to wegde in between ECJ and Blue Stars. Both Yamato & Revolution have loads of room to grow in the development. Yamato has a staff that is experienced in such late season surges. Cap Sound has never been in contending spot, ever. No slam on them, just a deciding factor. Yamato was mere tenths behind Raiders in Michigan and beat Cap Sound there. CS was only 2 points ahead of Yamato in Michigan City and 5 points over Revolution in different shows.

  5. Possibly the funniest review I have read this year! I love the SCV anachronistic reference, although it pains me to see them fall from grace so swiftly.
  6. I believe they are staying on the corner of 5th Place & Humility Ave.
  7. The scores are in from the first round of focus shows. Same panel over 2 nights in 2 locations. Only difference is the GE Music judge. Just like OK City on 04 & the Tarboro/ Jacksonville shows in 03 the results are intended to be comparable across the 2 competitions 1. ECJ 89.875 2. Spartans 88.3 3. Blue Stars 87.95 4. Fever 86.3 5. 8. Nice try. Maybe if you took the Crusaders score from the same day ECJ & Spartans scored in the 84's.....Oregon had a 77.4. Blue Stars were in a DCM show and were judged by farmers so they had no score.
  9. Sadly, I must agree with Lizz. The Spartans did not cover themselves in glory on Saturday. The behavior of ther staff after the show was not one of their proudest moments. Screaming & yellling not only at the DCI guy, but also each other. Controversy nonetheless (seems like there always is when 2 corps battle it out all Summer) the 2 groups (Spartans & ECJ) have clearly distanced themselves from the rest of the Div 2 pack. Don't be surprised top see Surf push hard to the Atlantic Division trifecta.
  10. Not sure what this post is saying. Is the corps going straight to Championship week and not fulfilling the obligations it made along the way? Are there enough funds to feed and transport the organization from California to New England. Just how thinly stretched will the finances and support staff be, especially if a group of parents will be staying home to raise funds? Gas & transportation costs are not something new. At all. Sounds like taking no for an answer may be the more responsible act. I am sure the fans of Div 2/3 would like to see the corps at Championships, but not at the expense of long term survival. All heat/sun/fever based euphemisms aside, I hope the management of the corps stays more focused on the well being of the membership than competitive endeavors.
  11. well the 10.3 in guard & 12.2 in percussion don't really stand up with the Div 2 corps. Looks like theless developed sections from 04 continue. Also brass is back to a 14.2....
  12. Agreed. first show jitters are good for about 4-5 points. Now about those other 12......
  13. Using last year's scores on 7/5 Spartans 77.1 ECJ 75.95 (1.15 behind Spartans) Blue Stars 71.70 (5.4) Surf 67.6 (9.5) Memphis 67.0 (10.1) Spartans, ECJ & Surf were in DCI AD show in Nashua, NH Blue Stars & Memphis were in DCI Central in Dubuque, IA Prelims in August - everyone @ the same show Spartans 94.1 ECJ 93.1 (.8 behind Spartans) Blue Stars 87.3 (6.8) Surf 83.4 ( 10.7) Memphis 82.7 (11.4) and on 7/17 Spartans 83.7 ECJ 83.1 (.6) SCV Cadets 82.1 (1.6) Fever 81.3 (2.4) Spartans & ECJ were in DCI AD show in Southbridge, MA SCV Cadets & Fever in DCI PD show in Sacramento, CA Prelims in August - everyone @ the same show Spartans 94.1 ECJ 93.1 (.8 behind Spartans) SCV Cadets 91.85 (2.25) Fever 88.65 (5.45) Looks pretty accurate to me. Lots can be derived from the whole country using the Div 2 sheets and the criteria being applied correctly. Sure there are some corps that will make huge strides during the stretch run, but for the most part what you see now is what you get at Championships.

  15. Actually they have tracked pretty accuratley the last few years. At this pint in 04 Spartans were 13 pts ahead of Memphis (with Spartans in 2/3 shows & Memphis doing Div 1 shows) and they finished 13 pts apart at finals. Judges doing a very good job ! &
