Currently we are only looking for 4 additional guard members for the competition guard, but a larger guard is always welcomed as members in the corps for parades and exhibitions. another opportunity to auditon for the Excelsior color guard is upon us. The audition crew will be in Pittsfield this evening at the Pittsfield boys and girls club from 6-9pm. Please stop by and check it out if you are interested. Everything will be downstairs in the LightHouse area. Park in lot next to church and go to metal doors at bottom corner of back of Boy's Club. That is our entrance. The requirements for this years guard has a large emphasis on dance. Please come prepared with a 5 minute dance routine. Amazing proficience in dance is not required, but previous dance experience is helpful. Excelsior PR Manager
How about contacting Shenendahowa and Johnstown High as they have two of the best Winter Guard Programs in NYS. It can't hurt... Hey Joe! Happy Turkey Day to you and yours! We have had some luck with those two programs, but as you know, those two programs are well established and quite independant. Both Dan Jones from Johnstown and Scott Snell of Shen have been contacted and they are aware of Excelsior. And you are right..."it cant hurt....". As we grow, we continue to make new contacts which in turn have, in many cases turned into new friends and in some cases turned into new satff members of Excelsior. (FYI....Just like always, things in Excelsiors world are still wacky! We are having the darnedest time finding 2 additional sopranos, but it looks like we could be hitting the field with 6 contras! (Class A with 6 contras-What???) The low brass has always been large and in charge at Excelsior!) Funny....right?
