edmeister76
How can a drum corps survive today? That's the question I set out to answer, as the number of corps seems to continue in its decline. The ever popular statistic "DCI had 442 corps in 1972 and last year fielded just 53” seems to provide evidence that drum corps is a dying activity, but all it takes is one look at the traffic through this forum to see that drum corps is alive and well. What do you guys think it takes for a corps to survive today? I tried to answer that question in an article in Halftime Magazine. You can read it here. Unfortunately, interest in a phenomena does not equate to its proliferation. If it did, the world would be overrun with Bigfoot....
