lindap Posted October 18, 2008 Share Posted October 18, 2008 Dutch Boy Cadets went to Europe in 1974. I think the Edmonton Strutters went over around the same time. And, of course, the Alberta Girls made a habit of traveling there in the 1970s.... Dutch Boy Cadets, Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Edmonton Strutters and Alberta All Girls of Edmonton, Alberta all went to Europe in 1974. Alberta all Girls also went to Europe in 1972, 1973 and 1977. I went with the drum corps in 1977 for a 10 week tour where we visited 13 countries. In 1978 we started planning for the 1980 Summer Olympics but had resource issues. Our last year as a drum corps was in 1979, continued as winter colour guard for 10 years thereafter and later a showband for stage only for about 3 years. In 2008 Dutch Boy are in Open Class and Edmonton Strutters are starting again with a young drum corps. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
