vbc33
Corps director Bernie Malesky is extremely pleased and excited to announce that the Connecticut Hurricanes will kick off their 2009 campaign at their open house/ first rehearsal on Sunday, December 7th at Naugatuck High School. The event will be held from 10-5 as the corps has been hard at work in recruiting new members at local high school band events. There has been a lot of interest expressed by people in the area who are ready to join the Huccaicanes as they look to imrpove upon their 4th Place finish at the DCA World Championships in 2008. Staff appointments at this time are Jim Duggan serving as show coordinator. Arrangers are Michael Klesch on brass, Kevin Murphy on percussion, Tim Holcomb on front ensemble, Phillip Triani on color guard, while Jamey Thompson returns as visual designer. Jeff Mitchell returns on the brass staff and Joe Roche on the visual staff. The undefeated 2008 DCA world champion color guard will be guided by Phillip Triani, Jim Zulick, and John Lemire. Rich Tardie once again leads the honor guard in pursuit of a sixth consecutive world title. The remaining staff positions will be announced as well as the 2009 show selection in the upcoming weeks. The Hurricanes wish to invite all prospective members as well as returning veterans to join them at this exciting event. The storm warning flags are flying at their highest point ever as the Connecticut Hurricanes begin their 2009 journey.
