Cies6093
The White Sabers camp on January 17th and 18th was a huge success with the return of many veterans, but also many new faces. We took an outstanding first step in what will be a very successful season! The horn line, lead by Caption Head Ben Chaffee, got through several exercises designed to increase development and growth as an ensemble. The brass program has been re-vamped to better target the corps’ needs to build off a successful 2008 season. The horn line rehearsed and prepared several on-field warm-up exercises and a parade tune for the 2009 parade season. They also played the entire first segment of the 2009 field show, and everything sounds great already! Rob Zolnowski, our newly hired Percussion Caption Head, led the drum line with the assistance of Ed Coleman. The drum line worked on several exercises and cadences to build their technique for the coming season. The battery also began preparing the first segment of our show for performance. With many new faces and some strong veterans, the drum line is sure to have a great season. The highlight of the weekend was the horn line and battery rehearsing and performing a majority of the opener! The brass played the entire segment while the battery ensembled most of the segment with the brass. With only a relatively short amount of rehearsal time, the show is already coming together fantastically. The performance set the bar high for a very promising season! The White Sabers will hold their next camp on February 7th and 8th at the LCHCC. Please check our website www.whitesabers.org for rehearsal times and directions! We hope to see you there!
