It's not about the music selection, it's about Madison recapturing what made them Madison. Since the late 90s, other corps have usurped elements of Madison's identity. Other corps do significantly more impressive visuals, other corps do more in-your-face music, other corps do simple concepts better, etc. Madison's took a step in the right direction last year, and playing down the "complexity" of the show concept is probably a good step for this summer. If the show allows Madison to help reinvent their true identity for this era, then I'm all for it. I probably still won't like the show, but I support the action.
