Fusion Core Administration Posted May 8, 2009 Share Posted May 8, 2009 It's amazing how long the winter seems and how quickly the summer creeps up on us. Fusion started it's outdoor camps the last weekend of April. We are definately being affected, attendance wise, by the fact that we have a young corps. We've been missing members from both the drum line and horn line due to college, SATs, High School band trips, senior trips, proms, etc.............but that has not affected our spirit or our drive. It also hasn't affected recruitment.........we picked up a couple of new members last weekend and hear that there will be a few more coming down this weekend. AWESOME!!! The brass and percussion have finished learning the first 2 minutes or so of drill and finished last weekend strong doing multiple reps. The guard is definately one of the high points right now. It's only been about 5 weeks since we started discussion with Darren about bringing in the instructional "Team" and guard that he has put together and this weekend they will be in the drill with us. The chemistry is already there and we're very excited to have them on board. We still have a couple of openings in the hornline and drumline. On a side note, we've also been having fun with a spot we found right next door to the field we're we've been ending our Saturday nights with a little kareoke and some snacks and beverages. The GREAT THING is it's a RESTERAUNT so it's ALL AGE FRIENDLY!!! Well, time to have some fun at Dorney Park on a field trip today.....which by the way.........CONGRATULATIONS TO LAUREN KULICH AND THE JEFFERSON SELECT AND JAZZ BAND AND THE CHORUS FOR GETTING "EXCELLENCE" ACROSS THE BOARD TODAY IN THE HIGH NOTES FESTIVAL.
