2 Trumpets, one drummer wanted
Borg Bari replied to capitalbrass's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
hopefully that is one good full size drum and bugle corps..... That's all most of us care about & want to see. -
I was bored, so I went to look for the thread that mentioned Larry Carbonnel. I remember it, but my computer blocked it saying it was infected with an active virus....around page 13 or 14. Also there was another new corps he was associated with in that area after TSOP closed shop. Busy guy. I'm not out to get Larry by the way. Don't know him. However, Gary was correct about that.

Bummer. Hey, you guys have to learn the chicken dance if you're doing weddings. Just sayin.... Exactly, you're catching on. Why bother if no one can go to it? -

Where can we get tickets? -
Renegades and all you non-NE corps travel to Rochester every year. How does that happen? Magic? I'm hearing something about a trip to Asia for them. Renegades have to be politically correct, I don't. They already pay for a trip to Rochester. You're pretty glib, Liz, for someone who doesn't know.

That was a worst case scenario I think Tatars said. Just remember this the next time Empire goes on a cruise or to Europe or Asia, then tell me again about how poor Empire can't afford it.
-
I wonder how many players in NY got lured from Brigs and Cru. The economy was just as bad when you announced it. As far as the deal where Empire and Renegades pay for each others travel expenses, Whats the difference? Each is still paying for a trip cross country. The classy thing would have been for Statesmen to go anyway. The economy never seemed to slow down Empire's ability to travel before. If you say you're going, then go.....

Pittsfield RED KNIGHTS ... 4 Weeks of Progress ...

Looks like a drum corps to me. Best of luck to you! -
Based on what most are saying here, all the comparing scores from different shows and geographical areas and ranking that goes on all season is truly meaningless.

Mini Corps Championships....who will take second?
Borg Bari replied to FPonzo's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
What does that have to do with anything, he was speaking as a member of Star. I also had positive things to say about Star United in certain years. Hey, just because somebody isn't enraptured over everything you do all the time is no reason to be over-reacting. That's what happened on that other thread, I saw it all before the edits. Everybody has to get over this "poor Star" syndrome". Some years are better than others, as it is with ALL corps. Even your less entertaining years still win, what do you have to be defensive or aggressive about? -
Mini Corps Championships....who will take second?
Borg Bari replied to FPonzo's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
I can't believe you take offense to keeping open minds and ears. Mini corps isn't won by impressive credentials, it's won on stage. Your comments have no validity whatsoever. I also have to add, the attitude of 'we're going to be more cerebral, if you don't like it, tough" says a lot about your contempt for the average DCA fan. It could do you guys in someday...... -
Mini Corps Championships....who will take second?
Borg Bari replied to FPonzo's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
It DID happen, in mini corps at least. It's up to the judges to determine and reward the type of show the majority of DCA folks want to hear. If that is Star, so be it. I did like Star United's show the year they played Candide and Horkstow Grange and an original opener that was very cool. Although played beautifully, Star's show didn't grab me as much as Mass Brass did last year. Let's hope the judges keep an open mind and ears to gauge the crowd favorite, not their website. -
welcome. You are assimilated.... your knowledge will be added to the collective.

Interesting for the govies..... I know, scores, schmores........ however.....

Well, I've wondered about that, calling themselves "mighty". Important only to the "originals" I guess..... Thanks for bringing that up, Keith

I'm thinking about taking a ride to Brockway. Would the Cabs Alumni play a concert as well as do the parade? -
"I don't recall the names, Senator." ok, I said my piece. I offered to drop it once, I'll drop it again. Just don't insult my intelligence about this class A love fest. Last word.

and with the new rule change, they still have a good shot at retaining their vote.
