Going Blu-Ray would be a bad decision.

Blu-Ray has a very expensive up-front financial hit with per-publisher and per-title license fees. Moreover the production process is expensive, and the yields are low compared to DVD (a lot of the copies fail in the process.)

In terms of the broader market, DVD sales, in general, have really taken a dive in the last year, and the market is not expected to recover ... Downloadable media is the way of the future for the entire Entertainment Industry, and most buyers are realizing that once they watch a movie, it will likely sit on their shelf and never played again.

DCI would probably be better off adopting a distribution model for download model for DRM-free media, so people can burn their own DVDs. Doubtless more potential profit in it.

I would buy the blueray depending on the year. Obviously, if the year sucked, I wouldn't buy one. I'm probably not gonna get the dvds this year...season was just dull dull dull. Oh, and where's the 1080i option?
