Mr. Know it all Posted June 13, 2010 Share Posted June 13, 2010 Before I even pose my question, let me say right up front that I know it's VERY early in the planning process for the 2011 season. So, I'm not trying to be alarmist or premature or anything. Now, with that being said... I don't yet see on the early WGI calendar a South Florida venue penciled-in for a regional during the 2011 season. Various other WGI events tentatively have been scheduled at the usual locations around the state - Orlando, Tampa and Pensacola - but nothing yet seems to be on the books anywhere within the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale-West Palm Beach area. Question: Will a South Florida regional be added at some point to the 2011 WGI schedule...??? (Obviously, there's plenty of time to add one.) Or is South Florida not going to be hosting a regional during the 2011 season...??? Just curious. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help. flagline4404 Posted June 14, 2010 Share Posted June 14, 2010 I heard that they asked a couple of South FL guards to host it and all of them said no because of cost and little profit. I am very upset to hear about no South FL show myself. It was really good for all the units in SFWGA who can't travel and a great show for the B class and Novice guards. Thanks for the information - although it's less than encouraging information to hear. But, as I pointed-out in my original question, there's still a lot of time before the 2011 season begins. Perhaps an unanticipated solution will appear between now and then. Stranger things have happened, I suppose.
