kevingamin
Tempo picks up for the second piece. Yikes, gotta get that together, horns. Drums are fun to watch and listen to so far. Very strong drum line this year for G-men.
kevingamin
Man, can't wait until I get my iPhone 4 so my pictures are clearer. Great hit from the horns! I'm sorry, but, for the second year in a row, Glassmen's horn sound is very top heavy and crass to me. Tubas should project more than that, guys. Synth effect in the pit overpowers the corps. Adjust that, please.
kevingamin
Very intense musical moment! Crowd likes (and so do I)! Handbells in the pit. Always a nice effect when done right, like now. I assume this prayer cycle isn't a particular religion? I've heard Simple Gifts quoted, as well as music with an Islamic feel.
kevingamin
I will say, this is the cleanest I've heard Glassmen in June in a long time. I can see why they're coming out of the gate so strong. This corps is very confident in what they do, and that comes across in their visual and sound. Another great musical moment! Yes, I'm saying that a lot about Glassmen. :D
grey0487
I assume this prayer cycle isn't a particular religion? I've heard Simple Gifts quoted, as well as music with an Islamic feel. It really shouldn't be...
kevingamin
Drums back in. Horns very aggressively building, now doing a great Pete Weber drill moment.
kevingamin
Love this statement, very triumphant sounding. Now the horns move into close quarters, kneel, and blow the crowd away. As the show goes along, the horn sound doesn't bother me as much. I still wish it was darker and less crass.
kevingamin
Horns move from the front of the field, breaking from formation and forming small crosses, then coming back togehter and forming a block triangle to finish the show. Crowd stands up. A VERY powerful performance. I really enjoyed it and am #### proud of my corps!
BluecoatsFan
Kevin-- how was Bloo's guard? that is one area they struggled last season.
