City Sound Welcome Roxanne Narachi

City Sound is pleased to announce the appointment Roxanne Narachi as the new Director of Visual Performance for its 2011 season.

Roxanne has a wide-ranging of experience in the performing arts activity. For years, she has taught numerous drum corps, marching bands, and indoor ensembles throughout southern California and throughout the country. She has assisted all of these groups with her experience and knowledge of the arts to perform at the top levels in the country.

Roxanne Narachi

Roxanne Narachi holds a Masters in Art in Education from California State University Dominguez Hills and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from California State University Long Beach.

Roxanne has choreographed, taught, and consulted throughout southern California for over twenty years. She taught dance at Fullerton College from 1987 to 1992, and has been a Winter Guard Association of Southern California ("WGASC") and Southern California Judging Association ("SCJA") judge from 1982 to 1990 and 2010 to present.

At a competitive level, Roxanne taught the Velvet Knight Drum and Bugle Corps from 1981 to 1984, 1887 to 1988, and 1992 to 1993. She also taught Argonauts from Salem, Oregon in 1985, along with Stanley Knaub.

In 2009, Roxanne was rewarded for all of her hard work by WGASC by being inducted into the WGASC Hall of fame.

Roxanne is a highly sought-after clinician, adjudicator, designer, and instructor for marching bands and drum and bugle corps throughout the country. It is to City Sounds benefit that she has accepted the position as Director of Visual Performance for City Sound’s 2011 season.

I am gonna have to stop by a rehearsal just to say hi to Roxanne. I haven't seen her since I worked with Scott King doing winterguard.
